Hi - I have owned this Thor Scope 2023 for about a year. Just recently we relocated to a wooded area to live and in the last 2 weeks have caught 2 mice in our camper. We think they are coming in through the ductwork somehow but want to make sure to plug any holes. I am looking for the schematics on the duct work and found the on the owners resources for the furnace but no schematics showing the air conditioner and how the ducts might be attached to that. Any advice or help is appreciated!

Hello & welcome!

Are the A/C ducts in the ceiling? If so, it might be possible for mice to get in there but I think it is more likely they get in from openings in the underside of the rig. They don't need a big hole, they can get through some amazingly small holes. Crawl underneath (safely!) with a flashlight and search for places where wiring & plumbing goes into the interior. A can of foam caulking can help seal those openings. I've heard that stuffing steel wool into openings might help deter them from chewing their way in.

Thanks so much! I will try that - It's a camper van with a pop-top so everything is underneath. Appreciate the reply :)

I agree, they're coming in from underneath not through the ducts. Try to plug the holes if you can. Best way to catch them using old fashioned mouse traps baited with peanut butter.

Thank you I've caught 6 so far with traps...it's been super difficult. I have narrowed place they seem to be entering in but still can't figure out how they are coming in from the outside. I'll keep this thread posted once we figure it out for other owners. If anyone has any ideas from this make and model please let me know and thanks to those who have applied.

If you have the Pop-Top model, then you do not have the roof mounted air conditioning. You have a Stand-Alone unit located in the sink,/frig unit . Take a look all around the AC unit, air intake and exhaust. I did find one opening under our Rize 18M (similar to the Scope) under the sink that went through the floor pan. Plugged it up with small wire mesh and foam insulation.

For our RV, we use Irish Spring Soap and electronic sound deterrents that plug into the 120v outlets . No issues.

For the traps, I recommend not to put them inside the RV. You are just attracting them to where you don't want them to go. Regular traps with peanut butter works for us. Put them under the RV during winter storage.

Great Stuff also comes in a green can labeled "Pest Block". Another layer of protection.
