Maiden Voyage!

So, please take a look at my sewage / black water connection. Sorry for the resolution. When I have the drainage pointed down, which seems to be the obvious direction, my black water line is well below my slinky. So it forms a natural U-bend, which is good?

But shouldn't the drainage exit the RV and then slope down to the drain?

If I pivot the connector to go out the access port horizontal, it actually needs to flow UP, which doesn't seem right.

Thoughts?

Yeah, not the best picture, but if you view full screen, on the left hand side is my black line coming vertically straight down from the rig. Due to the connection fixture, I can't bend the hose until it is resting on the ground. I then need to raise the hose UP to get to the top of the slinky.

So it makes a natural U-bend, which isn't bad I guess to isolate odor, but seems a little restrictive when it comes time to flush the tanks. When I did flush, everything seemed to come clean, just wondering if other owners had a similar problem.

Thanks!

It appears that where your hose touches the ground is lower then the where hose connects to ground. Maybe add another 90 so it’s come directly into your hose. Black tank should not be left in open position except while dumping. I always start the slinky behind where hose starts out of RV

A 360 x 213 image is a thumbnail. Post a full size picture. Is your hose riding on a support?

I have a clear 90 with a 9 inch extension that I connect to the downward pointed hose connection point. The 9” sticks out from the side a bit and makes the hose connection easier. And yes, most of the time it’s too low to use the slinky bridge but most of the time we don’t have sewer hookups and just run on the ground at the dump station. I’m considering getting a section of roof gutter to be a barrier between the hose and potentially rough ground.

Buy a Macerator kit on Amazon.
There is no need to torture yourself with a slinky.
1930's rv technology still used due to..., truthfully I don't know why.

They're awful, we all know they're awful.

Get rid of the extension connect slinky to the 90.
Due to disability it’s difficult for me to reach under the rig to get to the 90 and twist. The extension gives me leverage to get the 90 tight and then the hose connection is outside the rig and easy to attach.

I actually got an oil filter wrench that helped with a particularly tight connection on our Wildwood trailer. I’m disabled and have trouble reaching way underneath. Probably don’t need the 9” extension (a 5” would do) but it’s left over from my 25.3 where you practically have to get on your back to connect.

So the disability friendly macerator just won't work?

It's a garden hose and an electrical switch...while standing upright and not reaching much of anywhere.

The red switch in your upper left is set so the bin door turns it off if I shut the door.
I can't forgetfully leave it running.

If I wanted to:
A hose reel would mean I'd never have to make a connection.(heartily considered...but i haven't...yet...)
Just unreel the hose and flip the switch.

Faster when you consider the time to wrassle with the slinky.
12 gallons a minute.(mine has a problem with a thermal cut off so my tanks take about 10minutes to empty. I'm not terribly interested in fixing it)
To flush out the hose just run your gray tank through it.
100% rinse out...not like a slinky is kinda washed out.

The pictured item makes it all even faster. No hose thread to fiddle with.
