Hello All,

I have 3 Ac's all at 15K with the front (bedroom ) being a heat pump.

Has anyone ever replaced one of the 2 NON heat pump AC's with a 2nd AC with a heat pump.. I wanna possibly replace the kitchen 15k AC with a 15k AC W/heatpump.

The Redwood does have a Power management System on it as well. The other possible issue is have that 1 command system that controls the 3 AC's. The Kitchen ac does not show an option for electric heat.. will that automatically show up if 1 is installed?

I am not sure your conditions but our single Heat pump has worked well to heat the RW. At first I considered adding the heat strip to the second AC to have two Heat pumps but soon learned it was not needed. Keep in mind that heat pump only works with outside temps above 38 degrees. Below that they are not efficient and your gas furnace will kick in.

Yes, I a aware of that.. I like the evenness of the electric over the LP... With Our front bedroom having the heat pump, the heat does not get too far down into the kitchen or at the living room..

I was concerned More about running both together.. Global Connect ( ASE ) who makes the in-command told me all I would have to do to their product is change the floorpan and add that option to the kitchen AC.

Not sure If I would need to rn an additional wire from there to the control box on the roof ??

Joe, don't know about your fancy In-Command, but we ordered our RW with the heat pump option on both. So both of our T-Stats have the electric heat option, but only our Living Area T-stat has the Gas Heat setting.
Sort of glad we stayed with the old style manual switches for things.

Yea, I WANTED separate T-stats for the 3 AC's, but all of the fivers I was looking at last year had the in-command or equivalent...

Tim Cress told me it could be added on my coach, but the wiring would need to be changed... NOW , the folks at Coleman Mach were helpful and told me that I may only have to change the control module that the AC wires plug into in the roof.
.
AND the folks at In-Command said their end is an easy fix... Just call them and they will walk me through resetting the floorpan to add electric heat on that AC...

Joe - I was considering replacing our front Coleman AC only unit and if I did am going to add the heat pump. Ours, being a 2013, is the old style thermostat. Coleman told me all I would need to do was change the thermostat. They said their cable from the thermostat to the unit has all the wires in it to support any configuration. Might make your changeover a bunch easier.

We have a friend that moved his front ac/heat pump to middle location and middle ac to the front. Not sure how he made it work with the in command unit but he did say it was not difficult. He was having same issue as you Ford Truck guy. I left Vm with him to get his input to see if it would help.

Thanks Vaughan.I'm just not sure what I want to do yet

Our 38RL came with 3 AC units, 2 with heat pumps. I see no reason why you couldn't change yours out. Electric load would not be a problem.

Heat pump

We have the same model - 3991rd ... We hardly ever use the heat pump in the bedroom .. If it’s cold enuff to need heat , it’s to cold outside for it to work anyway ... We use the fireplace heater constantly in winter and keep propane heat on below 60 to keep pipes from freezing .. I do like how fast the heat pumps work to warm bedroom when needed ... I would think a new AC and Tstat would be all you would need to accomplish what you want !!!
