36RL bateries

All I can tell you is the one (and I mean ONE (1))that arrived in ours was one of the smallest batteries I've ever seen and there were NO markings on it at all, no size, amp hour rating, nothing. I proceeded to switch it out with our Montana trade and installed our two group 29 heavy duty batteries into the Redwood that were less than a year old.

The factory battery that came in ours was a 27, but during our RW sight seeing tours I noticed they only had 1 battery but 2 battery boxes...When I questioned the rep at DFW rv show he told me they get 2 type 27's and 2 dealers said they recommended 2 matching 27's in every 5th wheel they carried...I worked with my rep and he guaranteed 2 batteries...When I went to pick it up there was only 1 and I had my dealer call Doug Richards and they installed another while we went to lunch...After we got home I found they were type 24 Interstate and went to a dealer close to home who said they would have installed 27's and it was their company policy to install 2 type 27's in all 5th wheels....."Strange", same company we bought from bought different towns...Called our dealer and they said they only carried type 24's.....Got a little mad but called Interstate batteries direct 2 weeks after taking her home and the replaced with type 27's for $15.00 ...$7.50 each...So if your dealer doesn't work with you call the manufacturer of the battery ...see what they will do....But a battery that has no markings is totally unacceptable and before I left the lot with a new trailer I would insist on 2 type 27's...They make enough money on these units it shouldn't be a problem...Actually at the price of these baby's I think I'd call our friend Brian and rectify this situation.Edited by: RollsRoyce

I would have, but the 29s I had in the Montana were less than a year old and almost twice the amp hour ratings of 27s I looked at. So since the two rigs were side by side while we moved from one to the other it was a problem to just swap the batteries also and easier than arguing with the Dealer.

One of the few good things I can say about Explore USA in San Antonio is that I did not have to ask for a second battery and they upgraded me to 40# LP bottles at the dealer for no out of pocket expense.

My 40# LP tanks came out of the Montana as did our Sleep Number Mattress, would have pulled the sat dish off the roof, but thought that might be a bit much.

Thanks that's what I'll buy two of on the Jayco I got two years ago they put two 24's in at 65 AH boy what a surprise when I stopped at a Flying j overnight on the way to FL it dropped to 28 outside and i got up in a cold trailer with no juice
