Our rear ac unit is leaking condensate into the middle rear ceiling light. I removed the ac unit cover and checked the drain openings-all good. Checked the bolts that secure the unit to the roof, two rear bolts are tight, two on the side will not tighten, so I am thinking that the gasket is not sealed? Can I remove the two side bolts and try and relocate them in order to get the gasket to seal?

I had the same issue and assumed it was the a/c as well. It turned out to be the-rear cap seal at the roofline. There is a joint in the middle of the raised joint seal that was leaking. I reworked the whole joint and have not had an issue since. You can try and get on the roof with a hose and spray around the a/c unit with someone inside to watch to confirm if it is in fact the unit vs the cap joint seal.

Hi,
I am not going to help you, but I am facing a similar issue.
On heavy rain, the back door side corner of our back bedroom, the floor is soaking wet, plus we get the odd drop coming out the A/C duct.
We had the A/C unit replaced a year ago and can't help but think that is the issue. However, I am not convinced since I did get the repairman to come back and check it out and recalk. So maybe he missed something!!!
Last Summer I went up there and applied some Dicor Self-leveling Lap Sealant along the seam, but clearly that did not help.
In any case, feedback from this forum may provide some helpful insight.
Thanks,
Paul
