I know this seems to be an odd thing to ask about... :hide:
But as folks buy and sell their RVs: some move away from the Thor family of products.
But since this is the best RV site in the Universe: wouldn't a section for those owning other brands seem like a nice way to let folks know that they're still welcome?

Thanks for your consideration in this matter! :D

I would think that would be good. Most of the parts in these things are shared amongst brands. And people with other brands have great ideas as well.

This is the Thor Forum. The other brands also have their own forums some of which may be run or monitored by the manufacturers. Also, there is another forum IRV2 which encompasses all RV brands and which is also run by RV Life. IMHO we do not need to reinvent the wheel.

I just hit
New posts
And learn lots of things.

I don't really care what model or brand you're installing a henway(insert your wanted mod here) in to.
I just want to know of henways.

Conversely,
You all having a 53 chassis in no way keeps me from recommending the torque multiplier I use on my f450.

The wall unit in the picture is from a 1963(?)Timezit. It was top gizmo in its day.
It's getting mounted in my 2018 axis.
That's about as far a stretch as I can manage on sob meets Thor.

I suggest someone join the appropriate brand forum for information on that brand. If they want to lurk here for the fun of it, then okay. But this is a Thor forum, I'm sure Tiffin has their own forum.

I tend to agree with Dave. The Thor forums already cover multiple brands (all owed by Thor). While non-Thor or former Thor owners are welcome here, It doesn’t seen to make sense to me to add products not owed by Thor when there are other forums available like IRV2.
We belong to both.
When we owned a KZ travel trailer (also part of the Thor family) we were members of the KZ family forum. I still visit there from time to time.

I had a Thor and moved away to SOB as a couple of years ago as Thor did not make the type of MH I wanted, I still check out this site daily

Since Thor acquired Hymer they should have a section on the Thor Forum. We'll see if we can make that happen.

Yeah, I figure they’ll add Hymer when they get closer to manufacturing in USA. Thus far the new Hymer USA site hasn’t been updated at all, although the CEO suggested we’d know more in 4th quarter if I recall correctly. But that was before Covid setbacks, so Hymer USA manufacturing and rollout may be delayed. Either way I’m looking forward to see what type of RV they’ll offer under Hymer brand.

I am a moderator on a military truck forum-we got this same type of request a few years back, and the overwhelming responses were the same: let's stick to OUR brand (of truck, in that case) and leave the others to their own forums (and yes, we consider our military truck forum the BEST one too!).

I think we all support inquiries regarding other brands if we have expertise to share-nothing wrong with that, but I too would rather not have a column of different brands subset into "OUR" forum! :)

Please don't leave this forum Bob! I could care less which brand any of you have. I usually learn a bit of something from almost all posts... but Bob is consistently the voice of reason and courtesy, not to mention his great sense of humor... please, folks... let's not take ourselves too seriously! The whole point is to eat, drink, and be merry in our lovely homes away from home - no matter the brand! JMHO
