After a wash (including undercarriage spray) the ABS & Antiskid lights illuminated. ☹️

Brakes worked fine.
Cruise control worked fine.
Drove home.

But I’m not one to drive with warning lights on so I began to call around for service help. As everyone knows, finding a service place for Ford F53’s is not easy…

Purchased a code reader and downloaded the app for it to my phone. Worked great EXCEPT it wouldn’t/couldn’t read anything from the ABS! 😤

However, after messing around with it I found a prompt to erase all codes. I clicked it and it said something like “erase message sent”.

Lights stayed on. 😖

Started off this morning for the hour drive to a service place and when I got on the highway I noticed the lights were off! 😃

Cancelled the service appointment and drove home.

Hooked up the code reader again and it STILL wouldn’t/couldn’t read anything ABS/Antiskid info. Read all the other modules just fine. Read the ABS stuff on my 2018 F-150 just fine…

Soooo, anybody know why it won’t read that stuff on my rig??

Thanks in advance… 🍿

That looks like a pretty capable scanner but I think your question should first be directed to Innova:

It may not include the protocols for HD trucks.

Even after erasing antilock the warning light will stay on until the abs module detects the wheel speed sensor signal which means you have to drive the vehicle, most heavy duty abs module are wabco brand and can not be read with a automotive reader, does your vehicle have 2 diagnostic ports “ obd2 and round 9 pin” ? The round 9 pin port is for abs

I don't know if it has a round 9 pin port, where would that be located?

That's a red herring, N/A F53 chassis. Extra 6 and 9 pin ports are for Diesel engines AFAIK.
The round 9 pin isn’t just for diesel, Grumman trucks are a I ton gas powered with an Chevy 6.0l and they use both ports, just depends on which abs module was used.

Well, that may be true for Gruman, as well as gas International, gas Hino, Gas Ford larger F550, 650 etc trucks, we are talking motorhomes here with the F53 chassis (and E-series) which have the ABS module accessible by the OBDII port. The OP has an F53 chassis MH which uses the OBDII plug for ABS communication.
