ace 29.1 slide motor control location

Hopefully some one can assist a new owner. We have recently purchased a used 2012 ace 29.1. the user manual says to disconnect the 2 motor Leeds from the slide out motor controller in order to manually close the slide. Since it is not a model specific manual it does not tell me where this controller is located. I have looked. It has a picture of one but I don't seem to be able to find its location on my coach. Thought i should try this before I relay need to if my batteries ever completely fail.

Generally slide controllers are mounted in an outside storage compartment directly below the slide. On some coaches they are mounted to the wall of the storage compartment and in others, such as my coach, they mounted on the ceiling of the storage compartment. There will be one controller per slide so if the slide cover multiple storage compartments check them all.

I have an ACE 27.1 and the controller is in the bin next to the batteries below the slide. When you find yours make sure it is mounted with the wires facing down. The one in my unit had the wires and open controller facing up. Also Thor missed a very good portion of foam sealer for the wires going through the side of bin to the controller. One day the slide did not go out and I removed the control box and a few ounces of water came out. Water and electronics don't work well together. I had to replace the controller and mounted it the right way.
