What's the best way to add electric; dual direction fans into the existing 14x14" passive ones that have a maxxair@ cover on top of our class C. (Thor). where's the best source of diy to rewire such contraptions?

Are there any lights near by you can tap into. Have you pulled original vent out at least from inside there maybe power there already .

Poke around by the vent. Often times the wiring was factory done, probably to make it easy for dealers to upsell and install fans.

The best way is to go to a pro.
Go to any rv place, pick a fan, have them install it or ask them for a referral to install it, best is a mobile tech.

I prefer one with a remote control and a thermostat.

The intonation of a question needs answered in kind.

The MaxxAir vent cover is just that - a vent cover. It can be added to (almost) any vent.

Any powered vent will fit in those locations. 14" x 14" is a standard.

There is likely DC wiring already up there.

I bought MaxxAir fans on Amazon and had my RV mechanic install them. I paid a higher labor rate because it was owner furnished equipment but he couldn’t get the fans for the low price I paid on Amazon. So I saved money overall.

I got the fans with the remote control so height challenged wife can operate them. In and out and also automatic based on temperature setting.

I suggest getting the electrical drawings from Thor based on your VIN.

With that, I found that only two of the three vents in my rig were wired. Well, the one in the bathroom already had a fan, so that one was obvious. I didn't know if either of the living room or bedroom vents were wired or not...
With the knowledge of which one was supposed to be wired, it was dirt simple to verify and then wire up a fan.

I went with the Maxxfan for the living room, and I sort of regret it. I've had to order parts and repair that thing a few times now... I think a regular simple fantastic vent fan with a static cover would have been a better way to go.

I ended up changing out the OEM little bathroom fan with one of those drop-in replacements from Hengs. That one is loud but moves a lot of air
