My RV has duelies in rear. Today I checked the tire air pressure and filled the tires. However the inside rear tires use this extension for the valve stem. Both of these started leaking / blowing air after I tried to fill the tires. I have no idea why but I removed them and now no leaks. I guess I need to buy replacements? Any ideas on this?

Were they screwed on tight before you removed them?

If so, then replace them. Amazon has all sorts of lengths and shapes of extensions.

Where the extensions loose on the tire's valve stem? Did you try tightening the Schrader valve?

One of the extensions was a bit loose but it wasn't leaking until I attempt to add to the 65 psi that was in them.

A fellow RVer with dualies said he prefers not to use adapters but I may still try to find replacements. Never had an issue with these before.

On the Schrader valve. No I did not try to tighten them as I do not have a tool but will get one.

My experts tell me to never use the flexible extensions as they tend to leak and potentially lose enough air to cause catastrophic tire damage.
I had one that kept leaking. I switched to the stainless hard tubing and all problems solved.

Do you have TPMS on your wheels? My rig didn't come from the factory, so I added some aftermarket sensors. I have read of folks having lots of trouble putting sensors on extensions, so I removed them. Now it is quite difficult to add air to the inner wheels.

Hold on! Let me go tell the four 8 year old flexible extensions on my duallies that they are supposed to be causing me issues.

I have been using flexible extensions for years. I do replace them every two years. They are held in place using spring holders. They work great. I did find some damage that happened on one once after inspecting them at a two year interval. So I now replace them every two years. They are cheep. I only use metal braided ones.
