Air Conditioning in 36FL

Anyone with a 36FL having issues with the AC units keeping the living room cool?I am having a 8 to 10 degree difference in the thermostat settings and the living room is just not cool as compared to the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. I have adjusted vents, but that does not seem to relieve the problem. Any ideas?? We are in Utah and Arizona, the weather is very hot and I know that is a factor.

John I have noticed in our 36rl that the bed room is the last to get cooled and the first to be heated with the heat pump. Plus we all have the front cap heat problem. When using the ac we were instructed to run both, keep them on auto high at all times. Plus having 50 amp service also helps. I have found that our coach works better with 50amp service. Our thermostat does not work right either so I have compensated by setting a higher requirement 78 and "leaving it alone". Cools us enough. Experiment. Hane no idea why they are so far off. Can you imagine an all electric coach. You are very limited to where you go, unless you have a generator. Good luck.

John, if you research other forums where they offer a FL model you will see the same complaint. Remember you have a much lower ceiling in your Living Room compared to the rest of us. Could you use a fan to help draw more cool air into the LR to aid in cooling?
We must be the lucky ones, our T-stats seem to be right on. With both running set at 72 with fan on (not auto) we were able to keep it 72 while the outside temps were in the mid 90s. When on 30 amp service at a recent Samboree where we could only run one about the best we could do was keep the inside temp approx 10 to 12 degrees below the outside temp.

Folks, thanks for the insights and info. We do not have a generator and rely on 50 amp service. We will buy a fan and will have our dealer look at the thermostats to calibrate them

John, our FL is like yours. We have fans and they work well. Try closing 1 of the vents in bed room and see if that helps. Worked for us. Good luck

My thermostats are off too. At 72 my rig feels like a meat locker so I keep them turned up a little.

The hardest part I've found on my RL is first getting the unit cooled down after being on the road. After it gets cooled down it'll stay that way without a problem. We have to remember that we have to not only cool down the interior air but also the outside walls that are holding heat like an oven.

Well folks after writng yesterday about my heat pump heating…WELLLLLLL this morning I turned it on to remove the chill(64 degrees outside)and it went on for a few seconds and switched over to the gas fired furnace. I tried it again a couple of times and still the same result without even turning on the ac. Am I doing something wrong?
Has anyone experienced this?

I seem to recall some thing about requesting too much of an increase, the gas furnace will kick in and after the temp increases the heat pump comes back on. Check the owners manual. Good luck

I will try it. The instructions are very vague and really don't touch on that. Our manual seems to be generic and doesn't explain the intergration of the two systems. Will try it again. </span>

We normally use the fireplace to take the chill out and have not used the heat pump or furnace yet. I would be extremely interested on how the process works. Can you post your findings when you get an answer? Thanks

I had the same thing on my heat pump (36RE); if your thermostats is set over 4 degrees from the tem inside it will kick
over to the gas furnace to bring it up to with end 4 deg. Then heat pump comes
on. What I have done is if you want to only use elect heat pump<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /></span>

Inside tem is 50 set thermostat at 53 (heat
runs till it get to 53</span>

Move thermostat up to 56 heat pump will
take it up to 56 </span>

Do this till you get the temp you want and
heat pump will keep up.</span>
