An any thing topic

anyone been told there tire press was at 110 psi and than checked it them self to find out therange was 64 to87 psi. that means thefactory, hauler and dealer did not check it. do they not care about the danger of this. yes I am piss off. as we found so many things wrong with our unit. some of you think I am unreasonable about my concerns, I am sorry, I don't sugar coatanything. a lot of the the thing we found a blind man could have found.

Lillyputz I knew something was wrong when you where absent from the forum for so long. I have had a sinking feeling about what will await us when we pick ours up. My wife and I read this forum as most throughout the day and there seems to be too many problems that should have been caught at the factory. I hope they are not being overworked which causes a blind eye or corporate wants a blacker bottom line at product expense. I mentioned in a earlier note that I am all for this USA company and there beautiful product. We all want it to survive and move forward and grow. However bleak times will be ahead if some care isn't taken to steer through this. (Still a believer in Redwood and its people!) Jay and Linda

If you do not turn the ceiling fan off before running the slide in then the fan blades will hit the slide. If off, the blades will give to the slide (tight fit). We are getting our jacks fixed this Thursday, hope they do not continue to leak. Thanks for the heads up -will have a serious talk with techs.

The genny issue is the same as the Fantastic Fan issue, I think things changed slightly when Onan merged or was bought out by Cummings, so what we have is 5.5K Green Cummings. The leaking jacks is a Lippert issue. We had the system installed on our Montana and after a while had a leaking jack. Had it replaced under warranty, shortly that new jack leaked worse than the original. Had that replaced again and it seems to be holding. Both of my jacks we replaced by other Service Centers, that just got authorization from Lippert. Haven't checked our tire pressure yet, we haven't moved, but on tap to do that today along with check lug nut torque before we hookup. I sure hope Redwood is listening as we have the famous shower leak that has been reported by just about everybody. We haven't had any big things, just a bunch of little things, but it still leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Lilly the jack issue is a lippert problem as far as the gen thing you mentioned it probably is a onan gen set while i was a the factory I saww both colors of the gen sets but they were all Onans. so far what you mentioned is minor compared to some of the issues posted by others just keep in mind that these issues are all easily solved.

With the fan off. the slide catches the blades and would snap them off, if I would not stop the slide and wiggle through to set a blade on top of the slide. this has caused the blades and slide facia to have worn spots, that look terrible. they have to order somethings and calls to the factory to find out how to fix others.

can you send me or post a picture of the problem?

I would if I could. I'm not savy enough on this forum. I think the slide comes in at too steep of an angle, catching the blade or blades. then the problem of the blades rubbing on the faciain travel.I don't see how you could possibly get the ceiling fan closer to the ceiling, which would take care of the problems.

Our dealer found the tire pressure to be 85 when it arrived and cooled off....He was bringing them up to 105 per my request when we went to lunc.....All the factory would have to do on the showers at least on thee FB is pour a glass of water in the door channel...you could see light at both ends of the chanel where it attaches to the wall...and apparently the chanel is just attached on the bottom between the chanel and the shower base...why not just seal between the tub and the channel to begin with...But I do love my 5 foot shower with the nice size seat...If none of you have seen an FB you should really check one out before you buy.

They built a nice shelf between the dryer and washer that the dryer sits on and the units look like the most fancy you have ever seen.. Our dealer said the units they install do not even come close to being as nice as these units from the factory.... The washer sets in areally nice slip resistantpan attached to the floor. Since we had a leak behind unit it was probably at the hose connections the way it was spraying...not at the faucet connections...We ask the dealer to move the unit about 1/2 inch to left as the door hinges were slightly touching the cabinet hinges and didn't want my paint on either to be scarred up,,They agreed and are working on that now.

Sorry about your problems with your new unit.,sincerely hope they get you fixed up and un pissed, because we love you ROCI member.

As far as your Onan I think I'd get the serial and model numbers off the unit and verify it is a Gold with Onan themselves...I'm sure you paid a pretty price for that unit and that is what you deserve to have..Even though they say they can make substitutions rivh on the brochures: somes substitutions go a little too far.

Best of luck,
Rolls and the Mrs. Royce

Thank you for talking about the FB ,This is our favorite model ,Love the Shower!!!!!

I called onan and was told they discontinue the marquis gold and the HGJAB-1270Jwe have is the up dated model. glade about that.

Checked our tire pressure before we hooked up today and found them to be at 85 Lbs, would be fine for Marathons when the temp it in the upper 80s, but not for "G" rated G614s. Because we travel heavy, put the full 110 Lbs into them.

I ended up with a black generator, not sure what it is.

How much clearance do you all have from the generator exhaust pipe to the ground?

I'll measure mine tomorrow and let you know but if I remember right I'd say about 12 inches. While I was at the factory doing a tour I noticed one unit had a exhaust pipe that was too close to the ground. I looked at mine and was happy with the height of mine when I got it. I do think they should put some sort of chrome cover over the pipe.

My generator was dealer installed and I had them redo the exhaust pipe. When it the trailer was hitched up the exhaust was about 3 inches off the ground. It's still closer then I'd like.
Can you get a pic of the exhaust and post it?... Ditto on the chrome tip..

Redwood uses "inexpensive"exhaust hangersscrewed to the water tank shieldto hang the generator exhaust. Maybe mine was the one that was only 3 inches off the ground, Ha Ha.

AnywayI found you can just unbolt both hangers and move themup two holes and then it looks normal. Don't forget to turn the bolts and nuts facing up, so that theydon't catch on something underneath while manuvering.

I found the only 12" x 1.5" straight chrome tip and had to order it from a speed shop. I'll get the mfg. part number & post it for all.
