Thanks to much of the helpful advice I've received from this website, I just purchased my first RV of any type, a new Sunset Trail 270BH. Got a great price and service, as well as a comprehensive walk through, from Northgate RV in Ringgold, GA. Trailered it over 500 miles home to Baton Rouge with no problems towing behind my Tundra. Equalizer hitch and Tekonsha P3 brake controller helped, also thanks to advice from this forum. Ready to go camping!

Welcome to the forum. Lots of nice State Parks in Louisiana. I've camped in Fontainebleu, Fairview-Riverside, Tickfaw and Sam Houston Jones, all along I-12 and I-10. I usually stay in one of them when on my annual trip to and from Texas from Georgia.

Welcome to the forum,

I agree the forum helps set expectations for new owners, regardless of brand. For many of us, we buy these trailers for all the bells and whistles. One thing this forum has taught me is that bells and whistles can have issues.

Welcome to the forum.
Ready to go camping?...check out the 2014 Louisianna Gulf Coast Area rally in October.
It is in the "rally with Crossroads section"
Great group of people and you will be welcomed
Say howdy to Frank Henn for me.

Hmm have to bring it for us to see Oct 24th:thumb:

Get him Frank. That 80-90 mile jaunt over to Beaux Bridge will just get him warmed up and then he'll have more help than he would ever need to park or whatever.....

It looks like a great time and a beautiful park.

The park is nice, hopefully the weather will be also. What makes it great is the people.

Here's one we are headed to tomorrow thru Sunday morning :)

Nice little stopover park near Baton Rouge, La... good to take the first trip close to home ... bring a paper and pencil to write down all the things you HAVE to have once you get there and go to walmart :)

I agree Cliff. This is one I have really wanted to attend every since I first heard about it. I think it would be awesome. Not going to be able to attend this year either. The people, food, drink, food, drink, and location sounds like a great time. Hope everyone enjoys.
