I have a 2021 Daybreak 22 GOF. It has been having a leaking shower since new. The problem has been intermittent. Took it appart today and found the connections missing yjread sealer at the connections. Fixed by applying teflon tape and then pressure tested for leaks before reattaching to the wall. Even the water heater was leaking at the cold in and hot out fittings going into the tank. Picture provided in order to help others should the same happens to anyone.

9/10 times, the "plumber" overtightened the swivel fitting you show in your pic, and damaged the internal gasket, or over-compressed it to the point where it cannot seal.
There is not supposed to be any other sealant (TFE tape, etc) than the rubber/silicone gasket inside the swivel fitting or threads of the adjoining component.
If you add TFE tape to the threads, it will likely continue to leak at the 'swivel' part of that fitting.

It's supposed to be hand tight + 1/4 turn.

Take a look inside that 3-pronged nut and see if the gasket is there and what shape is it in?
Scroll down in this article to see pic of the two basic parts and advice on how tight to make these.

I carry a package of spare internal gaskets in my road kit too!

Like Mark said... carry spare parts. I have a " plumbers bag" with crimps, crimp tool, some brass elbows, couplings and also Shark Bite elbows and couplings. PTFE tape, various rubber gaskets, plumbers putty and grease... and a few lengths of 1/2" PEX.

All that stuff weighs less than a pound and takes up little space compared to how valuable it is in an emergency.

I really appreciate your input. Great pointers. Respectfully: The teflon tape fixed my issue; seems excessive but will keep the threads from dripping water and maintains the fitting from backing away. Got to remember that vibration is one of the worst enemies for rvs.

Keep a close eye on that fitting. I would suggest that it will eventually drip at the back edge, unless you over-tightened it. And then still a temporary fix.

Great idea.
Does Amazon etc sell a kit with these rv items?

You're probably better off piecemeal. I avoid "kits" for stuff like that because you're often paying for useless items.

Most of mine came from my home stash I've collected over the years. One addition last year was a spare water pump. It was something like $70 ?? but again... great insurance if you're out in the middle of nowhere - which we usually are.

I have lots of kits.
Strapped directly to my chassis battery is the exact tools to remove that battery.
My flat tire kit includes plugs and emergency valve stems.
A pex kit
Fuse and bulb kit.

It is indeed easier to make a kit that suits you best

Don't you have to think to do that? In a society full of lemmings, why can't TMC use AI to solve all our problems and kitting needs?

I mean without much effort, I could blame every WBGO quality defect on Thor. Given that Thor is #1 they are the leaders and thus should set the standard for Quality, every other RV Mfg merely just need to follow Thor's lead :whistling:

I have three basic kits (and other random tools) organized into three black Harbor Freight bags... plumbing, electrical and hardware (sockets, wrenches etc.). Wife calls them my "doctor bags".

Send me $500 and I will make you a RIVA Master Technician Certificate, I will even grant you as a honorary Doctorate; so it would read Dr. Chateau Nomad.

It is a good deal should you ever need to do a repair or get stranded.

Ok I may not buy anything unless there is a failure.
Thx

I keep a basic kit with me as shown- also have basic electrical and plumbing repair kit inside. I check plumbing often enough to not need those tools and parts on trips. I'll simply resort to rest stops and campground facilities as I did when 'tenting'.

Seen below:
12V/1500A Jumper pack, lug wrench/socket set, wheel hanger bolts, 12V jack/compressor, tow strap and eye-bolt for van, voltage tester, scangauge, VOM, fuses, "DPW vest" and safety triangle, flat fix kit, knife, gloves. Flashlights, one w/ extendable magnetic end and gooseneck to retrieve metal items.

great stocking stuffer, btw- next xmas or birthday present...
Spare UHG belt and wrench too.

and kneepads, from my gardening dept...

Bag lives in back, and ammo case lives under bed.

Great appreciation. Gives me more ideas.
Ammo I never considered.
With ANYTHING can happen a must
