Anyone tow with a Suburban?

We recently took delivery on a 32QB. We own a GMC dually, so getting the trailer where we want to go is no problem.
However, we also own horses, and use the dually to tow a gooseneck trailer. So the question is now "what if we want to take the TT AND the horses somewhere?"
My wife does NOT want to get another truck, as it would be her daily driver and she just can't bring herself to drive a truck every day. So we're thinking about a 3/4 ton Suburban.
Anyone pull a 32QB with one, and if so, how is it?

We used to tow with a 1/2 Chevy Tahoe, The trailer was only 27f and about 7800 loaded, I thought it did a good job but would never want to tow and thig bigger or heavier. You are looking at a much bigger rig.

I would think it would be no different than a 3/4 truck, Or very minimal differance

Been pulling my 31GR for awhile now with a Yukon XL (GM's Burb). Its a 2500, no different than a Silverado 2500. I do have the Big Block with 4:10 gears. I use a WD setup andhave forgotten the trailer is back there I suspect my Cruiser weighs more than your Zinger. I run through the mountains and then need to take the cruise control off or it downshifts 2 gears otherwise it only pops out of OD on the steep inclines. But that 496 is a beast and really pulls. If you stay in the flats even the 6.2 will be fine. Got 14,000 or so towing now will put 4 or 5 more on this summer. A 2500 Burb will pull your Zinger just fine, just get the hitch set up correctly.

we used to tow with a 1500 series suburban. we have the same trailer as you. i put a set of timberens in the rear of the suburban. it helped with the rear of the truck sagging. we were right at our weight limit and i towed with that in mind. i always kept enough space between us and others. i think you wil be o.k. with your 3/4 ton suburban.

i tow my zt-320-sb which is should be about the same weight as yourtt with a 2003 2500 surburban with a 8.1 gas engine and it pulls my tt with no problem.

After speaking with some towing "veterans" I settled on the 8.1 then spent 6 months looking for the right truck. Should've gone down south for an Earl Earnhard special edition but it got bought out from under me. Then an 04 showed up in town and I bought it on a snowy December day, paid less than I expected, it had never had a ball in the receiver. I needed the Yukon for hauling my music equipment as I am a part-time musician(hack) or would've bought aDuramax/Allison rig. Wish they put that set up in a Suburban/Yukon XL. I think the 8.1 was available till 06, not very popular due to gas mileage, might be able to find one with reasonable mileage at a reasonable price. I've already heard comments regarding the under-powered new 3/4 ton. And there have been reports of 8.1's with well over 100,000 miles regarding longevity. Call me in 3 years, my setup will be on the market when I shop for a big 5er and a MDT or HDT for retirement

Yeah, I'm an "old school" Hammond guy, collect, restore and play them. Good Call. My portable fits in the Yukon, I've a 5X12 if I use my Hammond B on stage. But the most of us in the band are a little old to haul a 375 pound beast-but nothing sounds like the real thing.

I agree! I am a keyboard player too....the last few years I've been using the Hammond XK3 system with a leslie 21. Don't need the 5x10 trailer anymore and my back thanks me!

Nice sound, I heard Sledgehammer on the way home from work todayand I thought, cool tune, I should work it out for the band. I play an XK-3 and a Motif through a Mesa Boogie 400+ and a 147 built into 2 boxes with some hot rod drivers, gotta have the tubes,I run the B through it also. We do alot of the same stuff, Chicago, BST, AWB EWF, Sly. We are between websites but I have some audio on MySpace...Becca and the Boys, our .com is down....net is coming, we just put a video together for it.

Ever stayed in Normandy Farms??????????? My daughter lived in Boston and we'd stay there. We really liked it.

My experience with the same trailer: I had a 2004 HD 2500 with the 6.0 Gas engine.

I traded for the 2006 HD 3500 with the Duramax and the Allison - NO COMPARISON. Milage and pulling power don't even compare and I loved the 04 Gas truck. Get the nice lady you mentioned to allow you to get another truck for hauling the trailer.

A 350 is no 496---------if you can find a nice used 8.1 you won't be disappointed
