I just want to ask anyone who recently travelled to Canada (after the Tariff changes). How is the reception for us Americans? From the border crossing, campground and in general? Did you experience any animosity?

I am not trying to start debates, etc. Just want to know your recent experience. We have travel plans in late June to early July to Montreal and Quebec. All campground deposits paid for. We have been to Canada several times in the past few years. First time to these areas.

Please share your most recent experience. Thanks.

Why should there be animosity? Americans haven't done anything to Canadians. If anything, there would be a sense of "sorry about your luck"... 🥴

I live in Canada and anyone here I have spoken with on the matter feels the same way, its not either of us, its the governments. We were in the states in the spring and the Americans we spoke with feel the same. We now have to register with the US gov if we stay for more than 30 days, could do without that. We're visiting, not staying......hopefully it'll get dropped. Video about the US being better................hmmmmmm.....

As a Canadian, I don't think I'll treat visitors any differently than in the past. Old guys don't change their behavior easily. If you need help, I'll try. If you need directions, I'm happy to help. I think most Canadian feel the same. We, like most countries, have our share of morons. But for the vast majority of Canadians will treat you the same.
What you probably will see is a lot more Canadian flags and more visible pride in being Canadian. You may face a few more questions at the border. I'm not sure you'll see much there either.
With that said, how would I know you are American besides your license plate which may prompt some of our idiots to flip you the bird? Keep your politics and religion to yourself and we won't know where you are from. (Some Canadians do say "about" the way you do.) I really don't mind humorous banter about our differences like Ace's video. But just don't tell me how wrong we are with some our laws and prices. That's for us to decide.

We like visiting Canada. For the 10+ years we have been RVing, we have crossed the border 5x. (Twice to Alberta and Jasper, twice to Vancouver, BC and once to Toronto). We have been asked to step off the RV during our FIRST visit (2018). The same with the LAST visit in (2024) to Vancouver, BC. Heading to Montreal and Quebec end of June (next month). Glad to hear that American travelers (RVers) are still welcome. I always point to my wife each time I see Canadian license plate on the road. Excited to see land travelers like us, from both sides. I avoid talking about politics with strangers. When asked, I keep my answer neutral and short.

This is what I am concerned about. When some idiot see our license plate (RV and towed car) being from the U.S.

I've been to Canada numerous time and have always enjoyed the beauty of it's landscape. No idiotic tariff on dairy products could change that. My general experience is that Canadians are not too different from Americans. Some liberal, some conservative but most somewhere near the middle. It's nice to hear from them that it's still about the same.

What exactly are you concerned about? I've been flipped off many times - sometimes just because I drive an RV. I just write it off as an idiot and carry on enjoying my day. I doubt you'll be run off the road because you're from the US. They're idiots - not malicious fools. You'll be safer than lots of places. But there are no guarantees in life - regardless where you are.

When smart people see you license plate they should thank you for spending your dollars in their area. In Florida we love our tourists, both international and domestic. They keep the resident's tax bill low and our State's budget operating at a surplus, allowing us to have Tax Holidays every year for school and disaster supplies. Not to mention the jobs they create.
