Brand new 2024 Thor Chateau 24F
When camping last week, we used the awning for the first time. The switch to extend and retract worked fine but we were dismayed to find that the lights didn't work. So after we got home, I looked at some YT videos to see if they had any insight. One by Lippert showed the inline fuse used for some of the switches so I removed the panel under the sink to check. I found the inline fuse to the switch, but it isn't the problem. As you may or may not know, Thor has really bad quality control. They don't seem to check their work (or care). Anyway, one of the wires to the switch was disconnected, but it wasn't that it had just slipped off the pin, the pin had pulled out of the switch and was still in the female connector on the wire. I haven't called the RV dealer yet to make an appointment to have it fixed, because I wondered if the pin could just be plugged back into the switch. It doesn't look like it was soldered or anything. I did make a half-hearted attempt to put it back into the slot where I thought it went, but no luck. Any thoughts or insight would be greatly appreciated!

It's a simple rocker switch... dirt cheap on Amazon. If your dealer won't hand you one at the door, skip the hassle and replace it yourself.

How can you tell if the switch is bad? Use your voltmeter and do a simple continuity test. Then strip the positive wire (the one with the inline fuse) ends and touch them together. If the awning LED strip lights... There's your dinner.
