Discussing the purchase of an awning shade screen for our motor home. In my research their are several different types which slide on awning tubes.
Any suggestions as to what brand might be better than others?
Thank you.

Just a thought about having a shade screen on your awning. If your awning automatically closes when it is windy, would that cause an issue with the sun shade screen attached to the awning roller?

The manufacturer of your electric awning probably does not recommend hanging anything from the awning arms or tube. Those shades, etc are made for awnings with angular supports that can be moved from the bottom of the RV to the ground below the awning tube very easily.

BUT;

The tube is the same in both cases with that slot just wanting that shade to be slid in. So if you continue down this road I recommend you also get an awning support kit to help handle the extra weight and wind load.

Is there a way to disable the automatic closing when windy?

Just purchased the shade, and am about to purchase the supports, but the auto close is certainly a culprit .....

Only if you install your own switch to remove power from the awning when it is deployed.

Do what I did, go to a sailmaker who will make exactly what you want, in the colour you want. Also, I got some telescopic, camping poles with pins in the top end, drilled a small hole in the roller for them and they act as pillars to support the awning.
Also, I've seen some awning shades on Temu, complete with pins etc.

Carefree of Colorado makes a great shad screen. EZ-sunblocker, it is a two piece system. And they have two heights and any length to fit your roller tube. The two height choices are 8' and 9'. The 8' has a 2' part that stays on the tube and a 6' fart that zippers on. The 9' has a 3' part that stays on the tube and a 6' part that zippers on. The big issues is if you have a high wind device on your awning and it tries to roll up the complete thing! I am trying to find the power source for my awning now. I have a 12 volt fuse labeled awning but it has no wires connected to it. I have a system called RAPID CAMP which is a remote control that can operate 5 devices from it. One function is the awning. Still looking for the power source to put a on off switch in the circuit.
