The big shade awning on my camper got taken by a gust of wind. Damaged the end cap. Actually pulled the awning away from the end cap and damaged the end cap. All else is well. It is a Carefree of Colorado shade. Anyone have contact info or suggestions about replacement. We are camping now and need to get it retracted for travel as well.

Does the motor work because if it is only the washers not on cap then loosen screws a little, put washers on plastic cap and tighten. You may need to turn off power to awning and turn back on if there is some kind of reset

Mr. Google helped. I got it taped up and retracted. Fortunately it was the idler side. Part ordered. $120 all in.

It doesn't look damaged enough to replace. I would purchased a slightly larger fender washer instead of a new piece of plastic.

It cracked in a few places. I figured I was just delaying the inevitable. Hopefully the replacement isn’t too complicated. Quite honestly, the design seems flawed. Instead of a u shape opening for the screws it should be the same as the motorized cap and be an enclosed screw hole.

Some people add new holes and use pop rivets with large heads because screws tend to loosen

Bought a new assembly from Carefree and installed it. The new coupling that attached to the awning roller had two holes versus the the three that was in the original which was a hassle. Drilled new holes so all the gaps lined up. I will probably go back and install a few rivots at some point.

Good morning, get two people both on ladders carefully unscrew both screws enough to insert endcap completely back onto to end cap. After loosening, have one person push
on one end while the other is holding and it should go back in. Only needs to move about a half inch and then tighten the endcap back down and you shoiuld be good to go. Good luck
