Mount-n-Lock Heavy-Haul'r Replacement RV Bumper - 4"

We bought this RV bumper through eTrailer as a replacement for the bumper installed on my Thor Axis 24.1. This RV original bumper was not designed to carry the sewer hose and this particular model RV is too low the ground to install a sewer hose pipe under the vehicle. Storing the sewer hose in the basement was not an option.

Shopping through eTrailer was easy, I’ve bought other items through eTrailer over the years so felt confident with this purchase. The bumper was well packaged, arrived in excellent condition and a couple of days earlier than the original estimate – so it was all good!

The Mount-n-Lock with the high gloss black powder coating was a perfect solution holding the full size sewer hose as well as the 15’ extension hose. The high gloss black finish is complimentary to the style and design of my RV. (They had just come out with the black gloss finish & didn’t even have a picture on the site yet. I would have gone the silver finish and painted it gloss black anyway, but was glad for the prefinished model).

I’m 71 years old, fairly handy with a skill level of 6-7 out of 10, and handled the uninstall and install myself. The original bumper was easy to remove the 4, 4”long, ¾” bolts. The Mount-n-Lock is well designed and fairly easy to install. Luckily the ¾” bolt holes were an exact match for my RV, so no drilling involved! I did need to buy 4, 4 ½”long ¾” bolts for the install. I needed to shave a small portion of a temporary locking bolt head that holds the interlocking bumper mounts together until the final install with the ¾” bolts. Instructions that came with the replacement bumper were clear and easy to follow.

All in all I am very pleased with this replacement bumper and am pleased to recommend it to others.

That looks like a nice installation, but I sure wouldn’t do it just to have a place to store my sewer hose. On my Axis, I keep it folded up in the same compartment as the black and grey dump valves and dump connector are located, so it is always grubby in there.

BTW, I use a Rhinoflex hose that folds up nicely. I always flush it after each use and although I sure wouldn’t eat off of it, it is cleaner than anything else in that compartment.

Me too!
There’s plenty of room in the dump valve compartment for 3 sewer hoses + a short garden hose for gray water
