Has anyone had issues with the back flow preventer on the black tank flush?
The valve is located under the bathroom sink at the rear, very hard to see or get a hold of. Tried using it last weekend and it flooded the bathroom. Because of where it is located, you can't get a good look at it and haven't had time to pull it out to see if it might be in backwards or not. When I turned off the water and pulled off the hose, water shot out the nozzle a couple feet and I got soaked. Thanks.

If they are the typical clear plastic type, it probably broke. They let air in through the top and if they break or stick water pours out through the top.

No I have a clear 90 coupling on my hose and can see when it is clean and flush until it is. I did make the mistake of closing the black valve to fill the tank for better flush, but the warning sticker said to always leave black water valve opened while flushing system.

I too have a 45 degree clear coupling and flush until it looks clean. However, I do close the black water valve while flushing for about three minutes at a time and then dump. Usually do that three or four times. I don't dare leave or allow myself to get distracted while doing this.

Bruce, think that's the reason for the statement of Black Valve open. With that statement, if we close the valve and flood the rig, we're at fault. I do the same as you, and sometimes even tho the water is pretty clear, I still see semi-solids coming out, so I do it another time of two.
