We dry camp or boon dock for weeks at time. most of the time when traveling, we will stay the night at a rest stop or truck stop. the amount of time we don't stay at a camp ground, will pay for the system in a short amount of time. also, when your unit sets, not being used, with your batts disconected they will still discharge. with the solar system, they will stay fully charged. these will prolong your batt life.

That's interesting we are full timers but the thought of boondocking is appealing in the future if fuel keeps getting hirer.

That is why we volunteer for the Corps of Engineers. With fuel prices soaring - staying lake side for 20 hours of service is a great alternative. We have been here for 2 years (same spot) while most everyone else has to leave after 14 days. No property tax and no rent - I am very thankful.

So I guess that means I'll be moving my batteries from the Montana over to the Redwood. They are a matched pair and less than a year old, so will probably give better and longer service than what the Factory/Dealer would provide.

Does anyone know what the battery box size is?? I want to move over my 2 group 29 batteries, they're a little longer and taller than the std 24/27s that are normally used.

Our salesman told me the batt they install is a group 27.

The batteries are Group 27. Haven't taken covers off to measure yet though. There could be some clearance around them.

Tks, I had boxes for the typical 24/27 and these 29 won't fit. I went with them because they had almost double the reserve capacity as the 24/27s. Might have to fab something or maybe find a storage container at Wally World that would hold them.

My unit came with one Interstate 12v deep cycle and I had the dealer add another Interstate for no additional costs.
