Anyone had to replace the battery connector due to corrosion on their f53 2016?

Can’t seem to find anything like it locally

Thanks! One one the auto part stores suggested a marine cranking battery .. that way I would have the post and threaded stud ? Those are 1000cca while the spec for my use is 850

So you're replacing the chassis battery? That explains the post connection. Of course all you need is a marine post adapter:

shopping

May be available at Wally World. You would think any auto parts store or boat dealer would have them locally as well.

I have 5 wires connecting to terminal.. 2- that I assume go to starter, much larger than other 3 .. you suggesting I just stack all these on a marine stud ?

5? I only see 3 in your picture. What would 5 wires on the positive post of a chassis battery go to?

I suspect:

One to starter
One to Battery bank combiner/disconnect (BIM/Trombetta)
One to Thor added fuse distribution box
One to Chassis main fuse box

So two should be Ford OEM connections, two should be Thor add on connections (which many times are combined at the Thor provided DC breaker, so that would be a single cable to the battery.

Yes.. the two pictures , one shows the 3 and the other picture the 2 big ones , are hidden by the insulation .

I was able to break off a large section of the old terminal .. drill a hole in the flat part , keeping the integrity of the stainless steel crimp intact . I’ll slip it over the stud , on the 3 way marine adapter I’ve ordered. The other 3 wires will have their own post. Will take a dremmel tool and shine all the surfaces up. Yes , the starting battery was marginal .. so I replaced it .

I’m sure it’s about time to replace house batteries.. are the deep cycle marine/rv the most preferred?

They're the least expensive to purchase and will probably have the shortest lifespan of the available options. A lot depends on your camping style and how much you will rely in your batteries.

I’m on 3.5 yrs with my interstate batteries, they are just now setting off the low voltage alarm if I drive more than 9 hours . Not sure if I have something else going on .. I just figure , the charge rate for the older batteries can’t keep up as I’m driving and the inverter is running for the fridge . A sort break , and run the generator.. mostly solves that . Had one rv’r say my “ bird” might need checked .. I’m a cabinet guy .. birds aren’t my expertise 🤣

Sounds to me like the coach batteries are not being charged from the alternator.

Would weak batteries cause that... or would a bad connection/corrosion that ive experienced on existing terminal be a potential cause?

there was a mention on this thread of (BIM/Trombetta) would that be bad connection or failed part?... iassume thats the wire from battery to house battery compartment ?

Yep, he needs his BIRD/Trombetta checked.

Taking those batteries to the low battery alarm level is damaging them.

I have read , the bird/ is a part which fails often. Does anyone have a link to a new one, so Ill know what Im looking for. I do see a small part in my battery compartment which could be it...

yep! I coated the post and terminal last time... I guess I should have coated all the connecting parts... might had prevented this failure.

BIRDs rarely fail. They are just the brain that controls a heavy duty solenoid that MAY look like an old FORD starter relay. There are other form factors as well.

Holly batsman, did u spend time along the beach!

What else is like that under your rig?

Most likely I had a gas leak around the battery post.. hence the premature life on the battery and the excessive corrosion buildup. all other battery terminals are pristine.
