Hoping I can get some advice or a solution. 2012 ace Thor.
Unit sat for 6 years before I purchased it. Replaced both coach and chassis batteries. Drove it over 2000 miles no issues. On the way back it started showing battery light. Checked all batteries, inverter, and alternator. All were functioning in desired perimeters. Drove another 900 miles with light staying on. Decided to throw an oem alternator on it the engine just for peace of mind. Made it home with light still on. Plugged to shore power for a week until next trip. I went to pre trip and had no power to chassis switch, no ignition, stepsc blower motor, or jacks. Found the bypass schematic on a thread here to merge chassis and coach. Unit has been great with no more issues, 5000 more miles driven. Last week I goto pre trip and all batteries were dead, the inverter was screaming. I checked with volt meter and had power going in none coming out. Changed the inverter and found my 30 amp plug had a leg burned out of it. I replaced power cord and inverter. All is good for 1500 miles. Lastnight I goto pre trip and both coach batteries are screaming, puking acid, and hot. I check voltage coming to batteries and had 13.4 like it’s always had. Chassis battery is fine and charging 13.4-13.7. Chassis cranks and runs and great. There is no power to the chassis or coach switches now. I dug into bcc box and found that the right of the board that controls the chassis has no power going to the red wire that goes into p15 (I think that’s the number). I ran a fusible jumper to that wire and everything functioned great. What would cause the coach batteries to all the sudden do this? What can I do to get power to the switches? I have checked all relays, fuses, and cleaned single ground on the rv. Its stretching my sanity thin!!!!
