Bedroom slide out issue;

The last two times we have moved (a month or so apart), each time we try to put our bedroom slide out, it only goes out a short distance, maybe 1/3 of the way out and stops. I can get it to move back in all the way. I can apply pressure in the bedroom at the top of the slide while my wife engages the switch, it then moves out? Has anyone else had this issue before? THANKS!
