Bottom corner slideout seals not keeping water out

I don't know how to make this better. With the slide out, the bottom wiper is in the correct position and the side wiper looks like it has been cut to fit around the hardware, but that does leave a gap. Today, while it was raining, I had a stream of water coming into the bedroom. Any advice on what to do with this?

I get the same WHEN the rain is really pouring and wind driven against the slide. I've yet to find a real solution that doesn't impede the slide moving in and out.

I've found it's not common... just when the slide is facing into the rain. It never leaks when closed.

I'm all ears on this one...

looking at that picture, I think I would do this;
1) lap the lower piece under the side piece, so that the rain can shed over it... likely flashing
2)notch the horizontal bottom piece in a similar way to the side piece is, so that it tucks in around the hardware better without sticking out.
