Our ceiling fan in our 18m Rize pulled hard and cracked the fan motor housing. The Dealer says we have to buy an entire new motor to obtain the small plastic piece housing the motor the screws onto the fan housing. Ther must be a replacement part as if it breaks so easily others have needed this also.

How much is the cost differential?
Are you chasing $25? $10?
Does the disassemble/reassemble time negate any savings?

Warehousing costs a large fortune per square foot per month.
I can see why nuts and bolts and small things aren't stocked.

There are 1000 videos on repairing broken plastic parts of all sorts.

bath fan or kitchen/cabin fan?
Time to replace with nicer one- many out there. Show us a pic!
Nothing hard about either one.

Do you own a home? Would you allow a handy man to kick you out of your house for one month to fix a ceiling fan?

Go to the RV dealer, pick up your RV and never return. Find a mobile tech or fix it yourself.

To all the RV dealers that read forums, quit taking advantage of new RV owners.

I am hoping beyond hope it hasn't been there for a month due to this fan alone.

I can't even imagine that after a month they're only to this step in a singular repair.

Maybe the op is just very very crafty and is getting free storage from the dealer for a couple of months and then cancels the workorder.

Now that's an idea. Open a work order with a dealer for a minor item that required parts that are not available. You'd get free storage.

Gosh sorry I posted this. It is a $10 part that cracked while closing. The 2022 Thor Rize 18-m used a Atwood Fantastic vent the part number is 601050. Available on ebay for $8.99 gray or $9.99 white vs $188.00 plus labor being quoted at dealership..?? It was in for several items of course. but just looking for anyone who was familiar with this problem and part. Took 3 days and Thor doesn't use the manufactures part numbers they have their own . Mystery everywhere.. No one at Dometic which supposedly bought Atwood could help nor could Thor or the Dealer it was process of elimination and detective work.

Good job on the detective work! :thumb:

You'll find that most parts for an RV "house" can be found on Amazon, eBay or online somewhere. You'll also discover frustration when depending on a dealer to fix small ticket items... just do it yourself for about a third of the price.

Never been handy. BUT after purchasing a NEW haha Rv in 2022 now retired i watch you tube a lot and have acquired some knowledge my Dealership lacks. Took 3 days to track down a part made by Atwood who is now Dometic and or DBA Fantastic and installed using a part number from Thor. It was easy to sell a whole new Fan and or NEW motor. Ordered an extra part for my tech at the dealership for Christmas. Part quoted was 188 plus labor at Dealer. Hate being barefoot and pregnant again. The cheap plastic housing cost 9.99 on Ebay but it was like pulling teeth to track it down. Second career idea Sherlock RV Homes.
