My 2022 Mercedes chassis 2023 Thor build out sanctuary threshold where the sliding door closes keeps opening up… Does anyone know if the chassis is actually torquing in this area as it travels down the road. There seems to be a lot of movement in that area. The cabinets also fell off the wall on that side, the screws just snapped right where they were drilled from the cabinet wood into the metal frame.

What type of traveling are you doing? Off road?

Go to a Merc dealership service department and ask a service writer to come out. Demonstrate what's happening. They might suggest adjusting a catch... which you can do yourself.

What Chateau said.

Given the number of Sprinters in use around the world, for cargo, delivery, and RVs it is unlikely there is a torquing problem. Unless it was in an accident. But you have owned it since new.

The slider may be “tightly” closed, and look that way, but the latch may not be fully engaged. Just a thought.

I will check with Mercedes thank you. I did purchase it new from camping world but I was surprised that it had 1600 miles on it already but they told me that’s because THOR in Indiana buys the Mercedes chassis from California and they have to drive it to Indiana because they don’t put them on trucks and ship them

Probably true, plus the mileage from Indiana to your dealer where purchased. Idaho I believe.

Actually,, that is probably the mileage (1600) from Indiana to Idaho. So the chassis may have been trucked (or train?) to Indiana. No matter, the 1600 is probably legitimate.

Mine had about the same milage when purchased , they said it was driven to Florida from up north , which would be about right .

Are you photographing & measuring the gap & recording it ? Yes on contacting your MB dealer .

The Cabinets , Thor has had issues with them , missing the supports in the Van with the screws , it was one of the things I actually checked when inspecting our RV , the salesmen looked at me funny when I grabbed a hold of them & gave them a good yank .Rv Dealer should take care of it .

It does make one wonder if flexing of the Van Body could cause this issue .
