Searched through the forum a bit and didn't see evidence of someone upgrading to a heavy duty front bumper/grill guard on their Class C E-450. I searched for these about a year ago and a year before that and didn't see much. Now I found pretty much what I was looking for and ordered one. Should be built and arrive maybe late Jan from manufacturer. It's a Thunder Struck FEV08-200, ordered through bumpersuperstore.com. Had a front 2" receiver installed as option. I figure I'll black out the chrome grill with plasti-dip before installing.

Looks like this:

Got my Thunderstruck bumper about a week ago and just installed it using an engine hoist. Great fit and finish, super heavy dooty. Only option I got on it was a 2" receiver.

What's the purpose of that? Are you planning to drive through brush?

Yes, exactly. That and to protect the grill during the inevitable zombie apocalypse. Been practicin’ my headshots too!

Thanks for asking! :thumb:

Need your help

Love it! your post has saved much searching. Now, if you could share the configuration I would appreciate this. I don't have a dealer near me in Canada, so I am looking at ordering by web and since I can not see an actual sample.

I would like your choices on paint, flat vs diamond, and perf screen vs verical bars. This would help me greatly.

Did the installation require any special alignment or drilling?

I do understand the need.....I am putting this on a 2011 Alp 24DS E450 winter package as my retirement hunting and fishing cabin on wheels. I will also be towing a 12 ft cargo trailer tripped with a side-by-side, freezer and generator with solar equipment, small workshop and a 13ft esquif boat on top.

This is my missing piece.

Sorry that was 4 years ago. Sold my Outlaw Dec 21 and bought a class B converted van in 2022. Don’t remember much about that grill guard other than what was posted.

I’m pretty sure he put it on there because he might be on the road quite a bit like I am. I purchased my 31 foot, 5 weeks ago. Within that time I’ve been on the road for 26 days went traveled through six states and even to Juarez,Mexico.

I just got home, coming down the Oregon coast to the California coast.

Ran into deer and elk on the road going through the redwoods. Soon as I saw those things, first thing I thought was getting a deer guard .

If you ever seen what a deer or a cow or even an elk can do to a front end of a truck you would understand why you would put one on!
