Class C Stabilizer Upgrades?

First thing you gotta know is you have an E350 chassis, not an F350.

What are you trying to accomplish with the upgrades?

How many miles under your belt driving the MH?

It will never drive like a car or pickup truck.

RV stabilizers can mean different things. Do you something too stabilize the ride as you drive on the highway or something to stabilize the rig when you are camped (stopped)?

For the former the first thing to asses are the tire pressures. Then shock absorbers and suspension upgrades (stiffer sway bars, etc).

For the latter, there are manual stabilizers (scissor jacks at each corner) & automatic leveling jacks (hydraulic system with a central control panel).

It all depends on your goal and how much you're willing to spend.

Typo, its an E350. I've had several Class C and one Class A, I know they will never dry like a pickup truck. I'm just trying to get some of the sway out and to help with the cross winds.

Trying to stabilize the ride as you drive on the highway. I have automatic stabilizers for when your parked. Existing stabilizers are factory, new koni shocks, tire pressure is correct. I was hoping to find someone who has made the upgrade and give me some feedback.

The factory sway bars on mine were not up to the task. I upgraded front and rear sway bars as well as the steering stabilizer. Sway bars made the biggest improvement. It drives very well now.

What brand did you purchase and what size, 1 3/8" 1 1/2" or 1 5/8"? I appreciate your input.

Okie

Roadmaster bars 1 3/8" front and 1 1/2" rear. The fronts are pretty much a plug and play replacement, the rears require drilling a couple holes in your frame. I built some wooden ramps to raise the RV up about 6-8 inches to get more room underneath, that helped a lot.

Before spending any money, I'd suggest you read through the thread at the link below.

https://www.forestriverforums.com/f...ing-caster-play-in-steering-wheel-226353.html

You'll learn the first step in making an Ford E-series cutaway based class C motor home handle better is adding caster to the front end alignment. Once that's done, you can decide if further upgrades are warranted.

In our case, a Thor Chateau 27R, I had the caster increased, and then over time one at a time, upgraded to Bilstein RV shocks, then installed the Roadmaster heavy duty sway bars and ultimately switched to Euro-metric Commercial tires. Each upgrade yielded a noticeable improvement.

Thor 28Z Fourwinds Completed the following chassis mods and could not be happier with the results and drive quality and stability.

Hello, I don’t mean to hijack the thread, but noticed you have the same coach as me. Did you happen to install leveling jacks, on your 28Z, and if so would you recommend it? I’m concerned about the added weight vs. ease of leveling since I’m just using ramps now.

About 6 months ago got the BigFoot auto level system installed. You’ll be glad you did. I’m very happy with the installation. See below information and I’m in Florida so went to the BigFoot Dealer located in Lakeland Florida. Roy is the owner and again could not be happier with the system and his work on the installation. The BigFoot link on the web you should be able to find a dealer.
All the best.

Great shots and looks like a clean install!
Thanks, I’ll save these if/when we decide to pull the trigger.
We had a previous Class C that had flip-down jacks due to low ground clearance, glad to see it’s possible to use straight ones.
