cleaning and protecting roof on 36RL

With all the different roof cleaner manufacturers, what is the best for protection, ease, and safety of 36RLs' roof? Wondering whether DAWN would be a safe cleaner as it has been used on water fowl --- Would it be a safe choice for RVs? What product adds protection to roof covering if any?

There are products sold through CW that are specially made for cleaning the roofs and later coating them. I usually just use the same detergent on the roof that I use on the paint. Make sure you don't use too stiff of a brush though. Again I use the same type of brush that is used on the sides.

The information that came with the coach on the roof suggests using a detergent just as Dave suggests. It also suggests using a non agressive brush. This roof,as I understand it,is not a rubber roof. It is a vinyl roof. Edited by: Blenhardt

Based on the manufacturer's brochure, use a non abrasive detergent (Dawn would be OK) and a brush, I also us the same brush on the roof that I use on the sides of the coach. I have washed my roof with the same cleaner that I use for the sides (McQuires auto wash)

Just make sure you use Original Blue Dawn, unscented!! Some one on the MOC used the Citrus Scent and had problems with Birds pecking at their roof.
