Hi All,

We're new to this forum and have a question. We've been looking at TT's and reading everything we can for the last year and just had a salesman tell us something that we've never heard or read before and was wondering what you guys think of it. With respect to the 12 warranty on the roof he told us that if we brought the TT back to them once a year for a roof inspection that not only the roof would be covered for 12 years but that in the event that a leak were to occur that water damage would be covered for that 12 year period also:confused:.

Is that correct? Or was that just a typical salesperson trying to sell something?

Thanks, Dave & Kim

Just to inspect it? That seems weird. You'll need to redo all the caulk every couple of years. Are they asking you to bring it back so they can charge you to recaulk the roof once a year?

It use to be, maybe still is----You had to take the rig in to the dealer once a year for roof inspection and re caulking if necessary. Dealer was suppose to document that you had done that, and send it to CR for the warranty to be good.
I don't know if they are still wanting that yet or not.

No annual inspections required any more. I would have that salesman give you something in writing to guarntee that 12 years on the roof or any water damage caused by the roof. There have been a couple Redwood owners have to fight very hard to get 1-2 year old roofs repaired from bad installation at the factory. They will more than likely want to charge you a couple hundred dollars every year to walk up there & say "looks good" & squirt $2 worth of caulk.

My one year full warranty is up in September. I just had a few items fixed and asked the service rep if I needed a yearly inspection. Got two different answers from two service reps. I asked mine to check roof, which is in great shape as it is fairly new and covered when home. I asked if he could document that he checked and approved everything, and he said he didn't have a form or anything like that.

I came home and checked my manual, seeing that they do have a page for several items to be checked yearly. They also said to fax Crossroads the page within 30 days of the year mark every year...Sounds a little much for me. I'm not sure if I'll get it done, or maybe I can take the page from the book to the service rep to check off prior to my year mark...

Steve, that is the way it was when we bought ours---way back when.
Apparently it hasn't changed.
