Not looking good.....Our RW is sitting in Cherry Grove, North Myrtle Beach on our lot and Florence is coming. We are 950 miles away and can not get there to get it out in time since they will not allow us in and even if we can we would never get inland in time. I was lucky enough today that I have a fellow installing 8 straps from frame to concrete pad in the morning. We were heading back there on the 22nd so my slides are even out. 500 feet in front of us down a small road in the resort is the ocean so not much protection except Cherry Grove wraps around slightly in the front since we are on the back side of the marsh.

Not a very good feeling this week!!:nonono:

I thought I was bad off. I am in Texas and my wife is at ours in Selma, NC. Not much she can do for it but luckily we are inland about 100 miles. Bad thing is that the park has some big trees. Hope they stay put. She is going to a hotel in town. Good luck to all those in the path!

Steve,

Let’s be optimistic here.... Cherry Grove will/should be south/west of the precdicted landfall ... That will be a good thing for the redwood, and your lot there...

That’s not to say you wont get hit hard.... But it could land south of you, then it would be BAD, real bad...,

I'm trying Joe!!!!!

It's strapped down so that is a piece of mind that I never thought I would have to do.

Too bad you don't have the new ASA Global Connect. Then you could go On-Line and close the slides.

All of us in the Redwood community are thinking positive waves and crossing fingers for you guys on the east coast. May the good Lord look after you and your families. And your Redwoods................

Tracy and I are hoping for the best. You'll be in our prayers and thoughts. We're supposed to be in Pirateland Jan-Mar so hopefully we will see you both and you'll have a good story to share over dinner.

All our best

Just saw on the news this morning that the storm is supposed to come ashore and turn South, missing most of NC. Good luck to all

Steve - this may be a late thought but could you call to anyone left in campground and give them the door code so that they could close your slides ?

Another suggestion is to have someone fill the fresh water tank. 800 lbs at a low center of gravity helps resist the wind force.

That would be to easy Vaughan,
Remember there are two locks on each? Yes I locked them both when I left. I was going to leave a key in shed but worried about missing my plane on my last trip there since I don't fly much and key was in my pocket when I got back home.

Char & Steve: So sorry for your situation and we'll be praying for a good outcome for you. We were headed to Myrtle Beach earlier this week but turned around and now in North Atlanta area. Florence is lessening some so hope it continues that trend.

HA HA... You travel like me Steve ! !:hide:

Thinking good thoughts and prayers for you in this storm, hope you fare well.
Stay safe and remember tomorrow can always be better.

Ours was in Crystal River FL last year with the slides out. The hurricane was category 1 and passed directly over the park. Only one trailer had minor roof damage from a falling limb.

THANK YOU for all the thoughts!!!!

We made it!!!!! No damage with only some limbs that came down. Very thankful to our friend down there that was able to strap it down. I owe him big when we get there next weekend.

Power is even back on!!
