Dead batteries cant start the engine or the Generator

Good Morning,

I have a 2014 Outlaw 37MD. Yesterday I went to start the RV up and let it run for awhile as we are getting really cold temps tonight in North Georgia. The engine wouldn't crank and neither would the generator. I am assuming that I left something on and it drained the batteries.
My question is what is the best way to jump the V10 and get the engine started? Do I treat it like I would a normal vehicle?

Yes: if you can get some jumper cables on the engine battery simply treat it just like any other car/truck. Once the engine is running it should charge both the house battery and the engine battery.

I have been thrown so many curve balls with this RV, I wasn't sure the correct way to jump it.

The consensus seems to be to charge up the chassis battery enough to get the generator started then use that to charge up the system. Seems like a sensible plan since the generator will use less current to start.
(Granted in that thread the original poster has a Diesel which takes a bit more to start than a V-10.)

I know I’m resurrecting a very old thread but this really helped me tonight.

It’s been 5 weeks since I had the hurricane started and every battery was dead. I tried plugging up to shore power but the transfer switch wouldn’t engage.
Performed a quick maintenance by cleaning post and checking fluid level as well as exterior inspection on chassis battery. Jumper cables from Jeep for 15 min and coach fired up. Then started genny and the transfer switch flipped. Figured I’d leave it run for a hour or so. Will maintenance house batteries tomorrow.
