Doghouse noise

I have searched and searched and seen several very nice installations of a couple of different products. What I cannot find is a "How to" is there one? If so where. I've read if you used the Dynamat extreme you should also use the dynamat hood liner. It sounds like you stick the extreme to whatever is in the doghouse now, then the hood liner to it. Is this similar with the other products? One for noise, one for heat. Don't want to do this twice. Also any idea if I am going to do the floor and firewall, how many square feet of what?

This is a DIY project.
There are many threads here describing how many different people did THEIR installation.
Probably just as many ways to do it.
Some install over existing liner. My existing liner was so badly installed I removed it and had to reinstaiil it properly, using Dynamat to fill in the gaps. Then I did a whole nother layer on top of that.
Both sound and heat are attenuated by the same stuff.
I also did the bottom of the floors where I could reach.

Make the modification yours - to your satisfaction.

Order two of these.
Use all of it all over your rv until it's gone.

There are no instructions.
Remove doghouse
Apply two coats of the above.
Replace doghouse.

Been watching youtubes as well. Two boxes is the important piece. and Two layers is important. Any gotchas on getting the seats out? the big allen looking or star bolt looks menacing.

Why do you need the seats out?

To line the floor.

Remove the doghouse... which will have a foil backed piece of insulation glued to it. Remove that and line the doghouse with Kilmat. Then re-glue the foil backed insulation.

If class C, remove the cab seats and rubber flooring. Apply Kilmat to every square inch of metal flooring. One layer on everything is plenty.

Look at some of Duck's sound deadening projects... I think he owns stock in Kilmat!! 😂

I know everyone thinks it's a load of bull
But
On good paved road ours has always been as quiet inside as our king ranch was.
Now it's even quieter.
I am erasing undertone noises. Perceived, but not actually consciously heard.
One of my best kilmat applications so far has been on the kick panel of the screen door. I think it did as much deadening as covering the entire engine bay did.

We do not have the heat problem other folks say they do.
Our a/c is adequate.

I haven't tried my new kilmatted fenderwells yet.
I'm expecting a background calming we didnt have before. I doubt there's will be a decibel change.
I am expecting a squat-ton less road heat transfer and certainly not the shotgun blast of noise some rocks flipped up can cause.

I had huge gaps between the house and van body, I filled them with silicone then sound deaden everything. I also bought some stuff that’s spray and I have sprayed much of the front underside (Sound Boom or something like that on Amazon.)

I’m sure ducks is quieter than mine but it’s AMAZING how much quieter mine is now!

Oh yeah, look back for the post from Bob about the seal between the door. Tons of air gets in there and it makes a huge difference.

If you search my post history there are quite a few replies to good threads!

Seats and mat out. When you guys say there is nothing there, you aren't kidding. This thing is a metal drum kinda like the sheet metal drum head they use under wrestling stages. Tomorrow the insulating begins. Pulled the plastic sill plates up, I think the whole cab is a mechanical amplifier.

The insulation under the dog house, I guess needs to come off. Any tricks?
Thanks

A kilmat roller really makes a difference.
Doubling and overlapping is ok.
Clean the surface you wish to bond to. No need for super clean.

Mine wasn't stuck that well. Just gentle pulling removed it completely.

Left, where your gas pedal foot rests against it, triple insulated that bit of firewall.
It's not the doghouse but where the dog house and firewall meet.

An unrealized comfort will happen.
It's amazing how hot that spot is and how different it is once kilmat'd.
