Has anyone installed this kit from Nations Alternators and Starters? I have a 2024 Thor Axis 7.3 V8 Gas. I just received the kit that includes the 48 V alternator, alternator bracket, Wakespeed controller, serpentine belt and wiring harness. It looks to be a very tight fit for on the left side of the engine. Searching didn't turn up too many results but I'm wondering if someone else has added a 2 alternator set up and either Axis or Vegas?

I don't see where they have a kit for your application:

Why?
48 volt allows for smaller wires...but your wiring is in place.
A converter is needed to run the items already installed.
Awning
Water heater
Propane heater
Lights
Macerator
Bunk
Slide
Water pump
Radio
Cameras

Is there any advantage to 48volts over 12volts in a relatively small rv?

Battery weight? I think the electrical laws equal it all out.
Battery size maybe a reason?
Accumulated heat in the wiring is a worry?

If it has value you can explain, I'll convert to 48v.

I understand added alternators.
I had planned for three of them but found the system to never come close to paying itself back by outpacing my generator.

You have to call them it's not been added to their website. Please see the attached installation guide.

I understand what you're saying but this is a personal choice, I'm not looking for a payback, basically I distain these kind of generators and getting rid of a noisy high maintenance limited life generator, as I will be installing 15 kW of lithium batteries, sure I will be adding solar panels but these has its limitations, this will charge my battery while I am driving. I actually hate staying in campgrounds. I'm going to be off grid, Boondocking, as far as I can get from civilization. A small portable propane generator will be in my tool kit. If I ever need. 48 V is the future. I do not want to look back.

This is Ford's OEM dual alternator set up that can be additional option on the E350 450 trucks, but their alternator bracket is on backorder with no ETA.

I will never be paid back for the 4wd system I added to my axis. Five(ish) years now and I've yet to use it.
I knew the job was dangerous when I took it.

I asked the question of you so that newbs wouldn't think yours(and mine)is a reasonable upgrade and perhaps they should think to do the same.

Thanks for the reply.
Wow that must be a major job. If I was wanting to go off road I would just have a Jeep toad.... look at the Airstream Atlas E1 then come back with your reply.

OEM dual alternators from Ford are both 12 VDC
Nations has a dual alternator kit for F - Series trucks, not E - Series vans or RV cutaways.
The Nations kits are also 12 VDC alternators.

Have you called Nations to discuss your wants/needs for YOUR application?

That mercedes lowride suspension and wheel base will be a problem anywhere there's a curb type driveway.
A Murphy bed at that price...imagine the compromise and routine nightly set up.
Anyone who buys that...deserves that.

The proudly touted DIESEL heater makes it truly laughable.

It's being installed this week. I will give a updated report soon.
