My stupid dumb question is....

Is there any way on a 2005 CrossRoads Cruiser 29rk to disable the electric brakes?

My pickup doesn't have a controller currently and I'm unable to get one due to a financial issue this week.

And because I am living full-time in my RV, I may be forced to relocate it, that's why I want to disable the brakes.

Thanks

First there are no dumb questions.

Second if you do not have a brake controller then you will not have any brakes. No need to disconnect anything.

Third not sure what you are going to pull it with but you are going to have your hands full stopping it with no brakes. That 5th wheel weighs about 7700# empty and depending on what you have in it a lot more. Can you ask someone with a 5th wheel hitch to help you move it?

I'm a now retired truck driver, and will be using my 99 F250 Super Duty 4x2 to pull it. I have zero plans to go further than about 30 miles. You wouldn't believe the number of times I have pulled a fully loaded semi trailer hundreds of miles with the brakes caged LOL.

I'd almost bet I'm tipping the scale closer to 10,000. I'm still not sure if I am going to be forced to relocate anyway.

Thanks for the suggestion. It just has to wait for my payments to be reinstated. Because I was injured last year and still dealing with it, but the insurance company arbitrarily decided to cancel my payment. Good thing I hired a attorney because I have been being paid on the wrong system and actually under paid by a very significant amount.

Obviously you haven't pulled a semi trailer with all the brakes caged, and 45,000 pounds loaded inside it 400+ miles to a repair facility. And the fun part was mountains

I have had to tow my 2013 ZT-270-RL with my F250 6.7L diesel over 600 miles to get home without trailer brakes. It probably weighs around 8,000#

And it's all about the reality of paying diligence when driving, braking early and just generally being extra safe
