Electric Cord Reel less then a year old 4001

Hello All

Today while reaching under rear of our less than year old 4001LK I accidentally bumped the cord reel switch. The cord reel proceeded to intermittently unwind the cord and would not stop no mater how we pushed the switch except to reel cord back in. . We ended up alternately pressing switch to reel in and the letting it reel out until we could remove and disconnect switch. Has anyone else had this switch fail or this type of problem? Solution short of replacing switch.

Our switch failed about a year after we purchased the unit new. It wasn’t as dramatic as yours, just quit working. I pulled the wires from the back of the switch and operated the reel by crossing the “correct” wires. I don’t remember which ones were correct. I did this till we took the unit into the dealer for the 1 year warranty appointment. Dealer installed a new switch.

I’d first make sure no connectors came loose from the back of the switch and go from there.
