Equal-i-zer or Reese SC

Buying TT in near future and trying to decide on WD hitch. Either the Equal-i-zer or Reese SC. I've noticed alot of people in here use the Equal-i-zer. Both appear to use the same concept. Any opinions, likes or dislikes on either? Has anyone used both and found that one works better than the other?

Yes, all the same concept - stop sway and distribute weight from the rear to front axle of the tow vehicle.

Our friends have a Reese DC (Dual Cam) system that required him to drill holes into the A-frame on the trailer. The cam arm's on this unit "hang down" several inches below the A-frame. Also, he states it is only "adequate" in it's ability to control sway.



I had 2 Equalizer hitches and was very pleased with both. I used one on my first trailer, a 2005 Jayco and the second system on a 2007 Jayco. Both units were very high in quality, easy to install with basic hand tools and I was pleased with the "no hole" mount system. Also, I found it very easy to lower or raise the mount arm on the trailer A-frame depending on how I loaded the trailer.



I think either will serve you right. I prefer the Equalizer Brand and I think their customer service is fantastic. Any questions, parts, etc. and they are there to help.

Good news!  There is no "right" answer as both hitches do a wonderful job of distributing weight and controlling sway.
I find the Equal-i-zer easier/faster to set up/take down than the Reese.  But there are several small unique parts that must be kept track of.  I keep extra sets as I tend to lose them when the weather is nasty and I'm in a hurry. 
Having used both I would choose the Equal-i-zer for my next trailer.

i'm very happy with my dual cam set up. i didnt need to drill any holes. mine has a "pinch bolt" the only small parts are two clips. i'd buy one again if i needed to, and welcome to this forum- lots of good people and good info here.

Kyle47, Please keep in mind that any hitch set up will allow you pull a trailer. The real question is can you do it safely? Please just note that a great set-up (Equal-i-zer, Reese DC or even a Hensley) won't compensate for a TV that's too small.

I have the equalizer brand and its the best 400 i have ever spent. It makes passing semi's easy and side winds not as scary. I got mine from rv wholesalers.

TT is either going to be Sunset Trail 30BH or Zinger 26BH, but more than likely the Zinger. Can't find a used Sunset trail in my price range. TV for now is Ford E350 van w/V-8.

I have the Equalizer on my 2004 Chevy HD 2500 (Gas???) and Zinger QB 32 with the slide.



I love the Equalizer and have had NO problems. The set up seems easy to me and my son now can hook it as fast as i can.



Now all I need is the electric jack to ease my physical suffering.



Any recommendations on electric...I look at the dealers and web sites but don't know which brand to trust.

I have Equal-I-Zer on my ST30BH. Much less movement and more secure feeling than with my former Reese WDH with a 23 foot Dutchmen.
