Exhaust Brake

We have 2022 Thor Aria with a 360XCR Cummins engine with Alison 6 speed transmission on a Freightliner chassis.
When using the exhaust brake the transmission identifiers (D, N, R) the D goes away and is replaced with a 2. Wondering what this means? As far as I know I only have one option for the exhaust brake… Do I have more than that? When the 2 shows up the display still has the identifier for the gear I’m in.

The gear selector is probably showing the gear selected and the actual gear in use for example 6 and 2. 6 indicating D and 2 being the current gear running.

All of this is explained under the appropriate shifters in the Allison Transmission Owners manual. It has nothing to do with the Cummins VGT brake.
