Extending an awning after some rain, do you do it?

Much has been said about leaving an awning out once it has been rained on, to dry. Makes sense.

However if my awning is retracted, and it rains, should I extend the awning each time to ensure all of it dries?

I’m thinking about all those days my RV sits unused in my driveway. Seems a bit repetitious. Nothing in my CrossRoads manual, nor Carefree manual, about this

Thoughts?

Do not know what others do but we do not.

well our awning catches rain when rolled up so I always crank it out to dry after. If I dont, we have had mildew staining. our current trailer has black awning so staining not noticeable but I still like to dry it out after a rain.

After heavy rains, as long as the temperature is 40 or above, I roll out the awning on a nice day to release water and to dry out.

The vinyl in the awning will not deteriorate from being wet but if your awning is rolled up and lefty in a wet/damp condition it is a breeding ground for mold. It probably is a good idea to extended it a couple of times through the season and wash it with a good detergent that will attack the mold and dirt that collects. It shouldn't be necessary to extend your awning after each rain storm but keep it clean to prevent mold build-up. When storing for the winter try to roll up the awning cleaned and a dry as possible, especially if being left in freezing conditions.

I should clarify my answer-- At home we do not open it up after a rain but out camping we do. We have a tree at home that would prevent it.
