Faucet not working

Good Day. The kitchen faucet in our 2023 Thor Axis 24.1 stopped working a few days ago. Today the toilet stopped flushing. What can cause the water flow to be interrupted? The water pump is working, the bathroom sink works well. There are no leaks that I could find inside or outside the RV. Please help me solve this issue. Thank you.

Addendum to the post

While I was driving there was a loud thump. There was no accident, no collision, no unusual road conditions. Shortly after I stopped, to look where the noise came from, I found that the toilet had filled and overflowed. I am not sure if this helps figure out what is going on but the faucet and toilet problems began only after this thump. There was water sprayed all over the bathroom with puddles all over the floor. No one had used the facilities.

What made or how did you get the toilet to stop overflowing?

Sounds like the valve on toilet burst allowing water to flow in toilet unabated. With no pressure and if kitchen faucets downstream you get no water.

You need your plumbing diagram. I would be afraid of where of where the water is going when pump is on

Number 1 - don't leave the pump on when you don't need it, especially driving down the road.

Your faucet may have stopped due to the aerator screen getting filled with crap.

Crap may also have jammed your toilet flush valve.

Check the water pump suction strainer.

Let's take the problems in order.

• First I assUme you were driving with the water pump turned on. Best practice should be that you turn the water pump off and the water supply if hooked up in the following circumstances.
• While driving.
• When ever you leave the coach for any length of time.
• While sleeping. If you do need to use water overnight turn the pump on and then turn it off after.
• Next the water flow problem.
• The bang might have been a line rupturing which would explain the loss of pressure at other faucets
• If you cannot find a ruptured or disconnected line or a malfunctioning valve, then it is possible the something is clogging the faucet valves.
• It could be some construction debris the got into the waterline during assembly.
• It could also be lime scale the has built up in the system.
• I my case I have occasional issues with lime scale clogging the aerators. My coach was four years old when purchased and all the aerators were badly clogged. I was able to clean it up and get everything working and I installed a filter and water softener to prevent additional buildup. Now that I have the softener I do occasionally have a bit of lime buildup break free and stop up an aerator as the softened water is dissolving the previous buildups.

I would suspect toilet valve failure- either replace valve or whole toilet, and should be on dealer (good luck) Should be easy to verify- if toilet is filling by itself, valve is stuck open most likely.

Also be sure to use pressure regulator on outside when connected to outside water source, and a filter. RV systems are typically 40psi max, and city water at 90psi could blow out a fixture.
And as you may have found- strainers could be clogged. When they build these things, it is not about quality, but speed, so you may find all kinds of debris from the installation of components.

Regarding the toilet - I am just going to replace the toilet and would love to have a dealer cover the cost, but considering past dealer responses, I do not want to put the negative energy into fighting with a dealer. Do you have any recommendations for a toilet of better quality that is less likely to have problems in the future? The current toilet is the Thetford Aquamatic Style II, low profile. With appreciation,

I have that toilet in my MH and have had ZERO problems with it. It's actually the best RV toilet we have had in an RV due to the ceramic bowl. Without knowing what actuall failed in your toilet (and why) recommendations will be hard to come by except for those that want to crow about their choice in toilets.

The strainer of concern is right next to the water pump and has a clear bubble top to open it up, which of course, opens the plumbing system - the fresh water tank isolation valve will need to be shut.

I had my faucets clog in my previous motorhome. When I spoke to t the dealer I instead of booking an appointment they sold me an inexpensive wand for me fresh water hose and told me to stick it in my hot water tank drain hole and flush it. I washed about a tablespoon of sandy lime scale out of my tank. Now I do that at the start of every season and have no more clogged screens.

As ACE said this a good toilet.
drpauldc are you handy? If so, I would order a new floor flange & water valve. The rebuild kits are under $15 on E Bay. Pull the toilet and replace the sticking valve. There is a good possibility debris from the original RV build has made its way into the toilet valve.
