We've been RVing for almost two years after buying a Windsport 34J new in 2018. What a learning curve! We've had the usual gremlins and the stress of dealing with dealer service departments (oh, joy). Have learned a lot from trolling the forum and we appreciate everyone's responses. Overall, we really enjoy camping and are looking forward to our second longer (10 day) trip next month.

Up and around the Florida panhandle; were supposed to do it last fall but Michael had different plans... Ended up cruising the east coast of Florida instead. Now, if we can just get all the gremlins sorted out, it'll be a great trip!

If you are doing the Panhandle...on the east end of Carrabelle Beach is a hidden gem .. HoHum RV Park....it is not kid oriented...no pool..no restaurant...just wonderful beachfront sites...we love it .. if you want beachfront you need to make advance reservations. If you have a toad..you can drive 5 miles to Carrabelle Beach and beyond !

Also...if you have not visited Cedar Key...north of Sarasota .. you should plan on that too ! We discovered it in May ..
We have family in Lakeland … go there at least once a year...and always try to find interesting places to light for a few days.

Have FUN !!!

Kudos on Cedar Key...it has become the best source of local oysters from Florida. Apalachicola had the market for years...beds have now gone bad (many reasons) and very few oysters coming from there. Most restaurants get them from Texas and Louisiana now unless you're lucky enough to find a place that sources them from Cedar Key.

Thanks for the insight, I'll check the panhandle campgrounds out. We've been to Cedar Key (though not in the RV); cool little town. We look forward to continuing our travels discovering the hidden jewels this country has to offer.

You may want to check out Steven Foster State Park off of I-75 just north of I 10. Great park and campground. Across the road is Big Shoals State Park with Florida's only class C rapids. This is all on the Suwannee River.
