Bought a new 2014 Hurricane 27K in April and loving it.

My quality experience has been a little better than some on the forum. Mainly screws loose or wrong. Have a number that they screwed into the hollow part of the wall instead of the frame board. So far those are on the privacy door guide, fuse and access panel under the couch L, and the panel with the controls and thermostat.

Other issues seem to be standard stuff. Panel above microwave, pin hole leak in awning over the door, noisy water pump, counter top trip, and had to have the slide adjusted.

Working with Thor to resolve and get repaired so not too worried. They have been pretty good so far.

We have been out about 9 times so far and things are going great. Can't wait now that cooler weather is coming up.

I have the same unit, took a year to fix but is a joy when parked.
mods: CHF, f&r Helwig SB extensions, Blue Ox Trc bar, inside to much to list but the microwave is mounted wrong so pull the mounting screws, replace with bolts so they can be tightened, fix the crappy crossbar mount with correct bolts / shim as needed and that will solve your microwave noise.

petef, My microwave also rattles and is loose. Where did you find the mounting screws? I looked and couldn't see where it was mounted but if you lift up on it, it moves about a 1/4" to 1/2".

You may have to put rubber in between the mount and microwave also. The mounting bolts are on top, 2 of them, they have screw heads. I just went to the hardware store and got the same size with hex head so could use a wrench to tighten them down good. I also shimmed and put extra screws in the cross bar that holds the thing as it was not mounted well either. All noises are gone.

What interior mods have you done.

I have taken out the table in front of the couch and thinking about replacing the couch but not sure how to handle the fuse box and electrical access in the current couch.

Will probably add sat for christmas.

Were the CHF worth it?
Do you pull a vehicle?

Not to much inside, bought a foam cushion to replace blow up bed in the overhead, also firm foam to go under king bed. Have a hooking latch on pantry door also. I have looked at the dinette area, I don't think moving the short side us doable because of all the electronic stuff, but getting rid of the table and long bench and replace with wall hugger recliners is an idea I have on the back burner

The CHF and Trac bar worth it for sure. I posted all I have done somewhere here. I put the adjustable links in front also.
I am not towing anything. I may be getting more used to driving it but the huge sways from trucks passing or wind gusts have been greatly reduced and I can go over 50mph without fear.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on buying your RV. I think it's one of the best ways to see our country. Enjoy the open road. Texas is great this time of year...

Wanted to chime in to say hello & welcome. We're new owners as well, and we are learning a lot of good info here in the forums. :thumb:

We have a new Hurricane 27K, but haven't had much opportunity to get out and enjoy it...only 2 very short jaunts in the last few months. But we hope to do more soon!

Hope you enjoy your new RV, and that your problems and issues are minimal if not nonexistent! :)
