Is anyone actually towing a Ford Maverick? I've been toying with the idea of getting rid of my Tacoma and my toad, a Soul. Downsize the fleet so to say. Less maintenance worries and more time for golf.

2 door or 4 door?

Yes. I have been pleasantly surprised what a nice vehicle it is and it makes a great toad!

Just so you know - only the hybrid Maverick is flat towable.

I presently tow a 2024 Maverick it tows great. It tows easier then the CRV I had previously. Could not be happier.

Just bought a 22 Maverick (truck, not the car) and getting ready to set it up as a dinghy for our Thor Outlaw. I am glad to see that it is a good towed. Any recommendations or cautions on the setup?

Did you read post #4?

I tried to find one for months. Dealers were poaching with high over MSRP prices if they had one. I agree probably the best Toad. I have a sprinter and the max tow weight is 4,750lbs. I settled for a Buick Envista.

Thanks for the replies. What baseplate should I use, Blue Ox or Roadmaster?
Lt I don't think you can go wrong with either one if the price is competitive.
Just for sheets & giggles I looked on E Trailer they have a Roadmaster for a Maverick @ $485 I didn't see a Blue Ox.

Make sure you have a charge line and make sure you follow the directions exactly to come out of neutral tow mode. This is where owners have had problems.

A towed vehicle charge line is a VERY easy install. It completely eliminates a dead towed battery... AND minimizes threads on forums titled "My toad battery is dead... HELP!"

I have been towing my Maverick for two years with no real problems. Make sure to follow directions for disengaging tow mode otherwise it will think it is still in tow mode when it is not. Easy fix just disconnect battery for about 30 minutes then reconnect.

I bought my maverick just for that reason, I spent another $4500 get it set up with the right tow package, tow bar & brake system. It works great & simple setup.

Yes, but if I counted right, that is about putting it in neutral tow, now about the set up. And by setup I was meaning the baseplate, towbar, wiring, etc.
Thanks
Most people would call that "installation" or "preparation". But semantics ain't my strong suite. :)
