Just wanted to post real quick to update everyone on what we're doing with recent updates and spam postings.</span><div style=": rgb251, 251, 253;">
<div style=": rgb251, 251, 253;">As many of you have noticed, spammers are still able to get through the registration process and post. We apologize for these incidents and are actively working to try and prevent this, but so far, all of the spam prevention features we have tried in the forum software have been ineffective.<div style=": rgb251, 251, 253;">
<div style=": rgb251, 251, 253;">We do have a couple more options which we have been working on, but have not yet implemented. Without going into too much detail at this time, we do want to let everyone know that we will be creating a Moderator group to try and get a team of dedicated, active members together who can help us.<div style=": rgb251, 251, 253;">
<div style=": rgb251, 251, 253;">We are still trying to respond daily to spam reports - removing the offending posts, and suspending the user, preventing them from logging back in or continuing to post. Please continue to report any posts you see, and we will continue to delete and block them while we work on implementing the rest of our plans.<div style=": rgb251, 251, 253;">
<div style=": rgb251, 251, 253;">Also, if you are interested in helping out in some fashion - whether you would like to be part of the Moderator team or just have some thoughts or ideas, please let us know.<div style=": rgb251, 251, 253;">
<div style=": rgb251, 251, 253;">Thanks

I previously volunteered and was accepted by Redwood marketing. However was never given any access to delete, enforce etc. I am still willing to act as an administrator for this forum

Have years of experience as a systems administrator and active on this forum. I'm willing to help with moderating and improving our forum...

Sounds good to me!

COLJDM, Dave & Ginny, and 5th_Time thanks for
offering up for the task </span>at hand. I
enjoy reading all the post that have been placed on here and sure don’t want
the spam!<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Moderators would be a welcome addition to this forum as would a more robust topic selection.
I'd like to see this forum grow into a searchable knowledge base specific to the Redwood brand and having a wide variety of topics and moderators to help keep threads on track and spam at a minimum would go a long way toward achieving that goal.
Fortunately we haven't seen a post that needed to be reported due to foul or abusive language so the main role of a moderator at present would primarily be spam control.
Good move Admins and I say the sooner the better.
