Front Hitch

Hi All,

I wasn't quite sure where the best place to post this thread, since this is not trailer upgrade, this seems like the next best place.

I am considering a front hitch on on F150 Ecoboost to open the option to transporting bikes.

Anyone have experience with either installing a front hitch and/or racking bikes on the front of their TV?

I've researched the F150 forum and a couple people have installed the hitch, but nothing out there on front hitching a bike carrier.

For longer trips, I need the bed for dry storage, so I've not taken bikes on those trips.

Adding a carrier to the tongue is not an option since 5 bikes and an hitch would push me over the tongue weight max.

Based on all the forum discussions (http://www.crossroadsowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7397&highlight=front+hitch), I'm shying away from putting the bikes on the back of the trailer.

I remember seeing photos here on the forum of bikes on the front of the tv, but not five of them.:nonono:

Thanks Lloyd,

I looked at this about 3 years ago with my last TV and had thought there were state laws in regards to covering the front of the vehicle (blocks headlights, plate).

If the bikes cover any part of your headlights you could get a ticket. I came close one time, only got a warning. Moved them up on my kingpin on front of 5er. I have seen them above propane tanks on tt!s.
