I have a 2021 Crossroads Sunset Trail Super Lite. My furnace will not fire up. It was working fine and now want ignite to produce any heat. What can I do to troubleshoot.

Silly advise I know but. Is your gas tank full and are the valves open? If you haven’t lit in a while there could be air in the lines. Lite the stove eyes and let them burn for a few minutes and the try relighting the furnace. Does your thermostat have a backup battery to check and are you hooked up to shore power or is your main battery charged?

Thanks for your reply. I do have plenty of propane. My stove and outside kitchen work fine. I have full battery running on a generator. It was working great. In the middle of the night I ran out of propane, I switched over to new propane bottle and would not come on.

Does the fan come on or is it completely dead? Do you hear the piezo ignition firing?

If you ran out of propane in the middle of the night but other appliances work it may be that you still have air in the line to the furnace. Sometimes it takes several tries to purge out the air.

Just a tip -- leave both bottles on and they will switch over automatically. There is a red indicator on the changeover valve that will tell you when you have a empty bottle. Just have to check every so often. Beats running out of heat in the middle of the night.

You may also want to turn your furnace controller off and then back on again. I have ran out overnight once, furnace would do everything but fire up. Had to turn off the thermostat, wait a few, then turned it back on. Fired right up after that.

One more thing to try. Your furnace may have locked out. After 3 attempts to light some go into lockout mode. Unplug the shore power and disconnect the battery. Wait about 5 minutes then turn all power back on and retry the furnace.

Check your manual for the furnace. There is a reset button on the appliance. If the furnace doesn't light after three attempts to ignite you might try this.

Or pull the fuse.

Yep the fan comes on and then it does not light and then shuts off.

Does the furnace go through the normal start sequence? You should hear the fan for a few seconds, and if you are near the furnace, you would hear a distinct 'click' as the gas valve opens. if you are getting that far, then it's not getting propane.
The propane change was the event that triggered it seems.
I have had the OPD valve in the propane tank (on my grille) stick and not open, and it causes low or no propane pressure.
Try turning off and disconnect the hose at the tank, then SLOWLY and firmly screw it back on.

Please let us know what fixes it, it helps others in the future.
Also, I would recommend dual tanks, if you don't already have them, and an auto-changeover regulator.
As many of us learn the hard way, you always run out of propane in the middle of the night, on a cold night.

I have a 2017 Crossroads Zinger and experienced the same symptoms. Furnace fan would come on when calling for heat, but furnace would not fire. This happened at the start of the first heating season. Trailer was brand new so we took it to the dealer for service and the tech found a loose/bad ground connection.

Hope this helps.
