Looking to add a curt 4 pin tow harness and trying to determine best pickup for power.

Any issues using the under the hood battery positive pole (used to jump start)?

I don't want to drill a hole in the chassis.

Factory harness stopped working, no fuses blown, and trailer lights work on my truck.

Tired of trouble shooting the issue, ford transit forum has so many posts about the Trailer lights issues.

Thanks

I don't know what you are looking at; but a 4 pin tow harness has no power connection.

Thanks but the curt c56327 requires a 12v battery connection, probably to power it's module.

Because you are wiring in a converter to change a vehicle with separate turn signal bulbs (from the brake bulbs) to use a standard 4 pin trailer connector where the brake and turn signal bulbs are the same. It's not a standard 4 pin curt harness.

Theres no heat pump?

Like most people on here,I just bought a brand new 23tw 2 months ago and it’s riddled with problems. I’m not sure if this has been discussed in any of the posts. But I noticed nothing happens when I use the heat pump on the screen. The furnace works fine. So I assumed its another warranty issue.
I was on the phone with Thor customer service about a different issue and mentioned the heat pump situation. The lady on the phone says my AC unit doesn’t have a heat pump function, and that the option on the screen is programmed as a default for other units that has it.
Is this true?

Take a look at what Thor installed. You should be able to see at Customer Central You need your VIN to create an account.
My 2019 Compass came with Airxcel 45000 series. If you read the manual, it says the optional "heating assembly is intended to take the chill out of the indoor air when the air is a few degrees too cool for comfort. The heating assembly is an effective “chill chaser”. It is not a substitute for a furnace."
The heating assembly is optional - so maybe you don't have it. Our experience has been it works as advertised - it takes the chill out but is not a replacement for a furnace.
As for your suggestion that "most people" bought an RV "riddled with problems", that's not been our experience. I have owned motorhomes for 25 years. The Compass is the best we've ever owned. Are there problems? Of course! Motorhome ownership comes with things to fix. Thor has been very good at sending parts - usually at no charge. I fix what I can and have an RV mechanic do what I can't. \
It's all a question of expectations. I expected I would have to maintain and fix it. I'm pleased with the small amount I've had to do.

I'm insulted I should have to repair a brand new anything & I don't care if they are willing to provide the parts . The TMC QC is rough shod at the very least , pump them out ,let the Dealerships finish the QC & the owner has to suffer with long wait times !

I would guess it a partnership & its known by them , but that doesn't help the new owners.

A walk through only sees the obvious , the real QC issues are buried & you can't see hear or feel them , until you have to start disassembling things to investigate .

2024 Compass KB towing

We are picking up our 2024 Compass KB this weekend. We are really excited about it. We have owned a 2018 Winnebago Fuse 23T but wanted twin beds and no diesel/DEF. Would like to know what anyone is towing? Cargo trailer? Toad? Appreciate this forum!!

We do not tow anything. It's one of the reasons we really like our Compass. It's small enough to drive almost anywhere and parking is not a problem. So instead of towing, hitching up and unhitching - we just drive the Compass.

We tow a 2014 Chevy Captiva LT with our 2024 Compass KB using a 4" drop and a Ready Brute tow bar with built in brake. The MH handles very well when towing and seems to have plenty of power. We've only towed the car 3 times for about a total of 400 miles here in northern Ohio. We've only had the MH since late summer. So far we love it as it rides and handles much better than the 2015 Windsport 27K we sold. Good luck.

Swapping 100ah coach battery for a 200ah

Hi everyone, new member, first post...

I have a 2025 KB and I want to swap my 100ah coach battery with a 200ah battery. Has anyone done this yet? Is there anything I should be concerned with?

Ya our 23TW had many problems and the heat pump was one of them. When I called they said I did not have a heat pump even though the sticker said there was one. I ended up needing to update my BM pro software to get it to work.

Our 2024 23TE has been near perfect. No issues to speak of. We changed the bathroom faucet for better water flow and are adding a filtered water tap in the kitchen. Upgraded to two 100ah lithium batteries and a DC/DC charger.

The Ford chassis has been perfect with no issues and more than enough power.

It is optional. You get it when you get the larger AC I think. It should say on your sticker.

Hello Bobby, Look at Li time 230 ah lithium, that may fit your needs. just a suggestion.
good luck.

PD,
Our 2024 KB has plenty of room for a second battery. If you the same battery compartment under the step, wouldn't it be less expensive to just add another 100amp battery and wire it in parallel? When we ordered our 2015 Windsport 27K we opted for two 12 volt batteries
Hope you're enjoying your KB, we love ours. It drives and handles so much better than our Windsport. Safe travels.

Hi John & Diane
When you do a battery they should be of the same size & brand. The one I mentioned is one lithium, less wiring & easier. you will be to change settings on the charger & solar controller.I think the Gemini, Compass is the better units for the $$$$$$

Regards
Mike
