I took my 2024 Thor Compass in for a generator issue. They ended up replacing the generator with a new one. Now the generator and shore power will not run the air conditioner. Does anyone know if there is an auto transfer switch/breaker/fuse that might have tripped and if so where is it located? The generator and shore power don't charge the batteries either. The only way to charge the batteries is with solar. The air conditioner will run but it runs through the inverter and drains my batteries. Any ideas? Thank you.

Check breakers even if they don’t look tripped reset them, could be on generator, there could panel of breakers and fuses

Onan generators have a breaker on the generator itself. Do a Google search... many pics showing it. If it's not an Onan, try searching...

As far as A/C not working on shore power OR generator... but DOES work on inverter, I think you're on the right track with the transfer switch. Do you have an EMS (surge protector) on your shore power line? If not it's possible contacts are fried in your transfer switch.

If you're handy with a voltmeter, start measuring at various points, like shore power AC into your transfer switch.

Otherwise go back to the source... ya gotta think they checked this after a generator install?? Otherwise how would they know if the generator fixed whatever your original problem was?

As noted above start with the generator and be sure the breaker on it is not tripped. Then go to the battery area. Most rigs have a 50 amp breaker on the wall near the batteries. You can tell if it is tripped because a red flag thing pops up. Your invertor/convertor also will have a breaker, usually a black button on the bottom or side. Check that. Then go to your circuit breaker box and reset the breakers. It that does not work you can start with a voltmeter to track it down or go back to your generator installer.
